From the queen troll herself. Get a lot of questions about your re-occurring appearance on Glee as the transi football coach? Of course you look better on screen than in person. Enjoy the strap on ugly!

Grizzly Adams was canceled a long time ago. Time for another gig. Horders maybe? It's a chance to get some after care funds for that BPD/ OCD and some clean up money for the dog pooped house and junked out front yard.

I still cannot believe people in this city elected Ladonna.....what a bunch of freakin idiots and just goes to show ya the caliber of those who voted for her.

I'm ready and willing to sign up if anyone ever gets a recall going. The only way we can save ourselves is to get that trash out of council. Trudy and Maria are the only ones who really seem to care. Now elect Patrick to build the leverage.

At the very least, this administration has earned a Vote of No Confidence.

And yet you seem to be trolling this site. We all know your plans. Brian must not be running again and you're salivating over that empty council seat. Please, just give up and go away. No one wants you on city council. Just give up and go back to the mean spirited ways you had before the prospect of getting elected caused you to be "nice".

I wish a recall was an option. In order to do that though some of the idiots who voted for her would have to be seeing the light by now. I really don't think that's the case. I'm still seeing things on here and hearing people defend her. There just is no cure for stupidity. Even with not one campaign promise fulfilled and lies on her campaign literature (secured 330,000 in community development block grants, devised a plan to balance our budget), they still don't get it.

Please do go away. We will work tirelessly to make sure you never get elected for any position within our city. With all the important problems we are facing it is a shame to have to put the time and energy into a "defeat Chris" campaign but we will find both.

A plan to balance our budget, right. The new accountant will have to do that one. Right from Mrs. Pittman's political campaign flyer to the to do list for the new accountant. God speed to the new accountant. Common sense tells us if Mrs. Pittman had a plan to do anything she would have sent out an email blast to God and everybody. How 'bout them movies under the stars! She wouldn't let Burl Ellis take credit for it either. Her plan will be whatever the new accountant can come up with for a budget that's been out of control for years and now mushroomed out of control under Mrs. Pittman so much so she refuses to even talk about the budget and finances at council meetings. People claim she won't even put it on the agenda. You don't have to be a genius to figure out why Mrs. Pittman refuses to talk about her so called plan to balance the budget and the city's finances. What I can't figure out is why the elected officials on city council let Mrs. Pittman get away with it. They got reponsibility in it too. Maybe the latest sunshine laws will get through the dark ethics cloud hanging over Doraville's inner sanctum. The mayor's door sure is shut a lot. Oh yeah another campaign promise on her flyers was an open door policy. The talk about RECALL is picking up steam. Maybe it's just venting. Maybe people are really starting to pay attention to the budget. Tell you what. Next election my wife and I will REQUIRE every candidate to show proof of their qualifications for whatever office they're running for. No more of the "nice lady routine" and "I have lived here for 30 years". That dog just don't hunt no more. In the future don't knock on my door unless you got the goods. My family is counting on you Mr. Patrick. God bless the Citizens for Progress people and that Watchdog association in Northwoods. I heard the Citizens group is for the whole city but the Watchdog association is just about Northwoods neighborhoods. We need a Watchdog Association in 30360. That's a bandwagon my family will jump on. Let's roll!

Im curious as to why you would start a recall? If im not mistaken you have to have a reason for this? Something criminal or gross misconduct. The Mayor would NEVER do anything criminal!!!! Maybe you should worry about other stuff happening in the City. And why is it so bad the she truly cares about the employees?? I wish other people felt that way. Maybe you should quit being jealous of her and shut up! If not provide a reason for a recall which You CANNOT DO!!

Oh MJA, there is so much it can't all be typed. So many direct charter violations, financial misdeeds. As for "caring about the employees", that's admirable, but how about making some of the low life slackers actually WORK for their pay? You and your friends are outnumbered, you will see evidence of that in the next election. We wish you would all go away. You cause stress and strife and no productivity to be had!

That's bullsh*t, MJA. What a cheerleader for ladonya you are! Her gross incompetence in running this city, lack of presenting a balanced budget (as promised in campaign literature), lack of transparency (as promised in campaign literature) lack of a state of the city presentation (repeatedly asked for) and total selling out to Chamblee of Doraville residents who presented a list of complaints all add up to gross misconduct.

There a a boatload of other grievances....these are just a few starters. Not enought time or space to list all of the others.

Jane, I agree about making the employees work. Why do you not start with the department head? Or is he or she off limits?? It always seems that way. Just Sayin, I realize the Mayor has to present the budget but how is she suppose to do this when the council is so at odds?? How far off budget are we?? If the budget is so bad is it really her fault? Are the department heads managing their budgets like they should? If not then the COUNCIL needs to come together with the MAYOR and address it. And as far as State of the City presentation that is almost laughable. When has Doraville ever had that? Is that not covered in budget meeting and work sessions? We can be present when each department head goes infront of the council to discuss it.

One of the employees IS a department head, the other I saw lounging in the shade behind the Salvation Army church today. The council should come together, but the budget is not entirely their fault either. The part that is the mayor's fault is all of the spending on contractual help do to the job she is being paid for! As for the State of the City address, that was HER promise to us. Asking "when has Doraville ever had that?" reminds me of people who voted for her who said things like "that's the way it's always been done". When are people going to finally realize that the "way it's always been done" is exactly why we are now sitting in this sinking ship?

Jane,
No disrespect to you but the way it use to be done must have been the right way. A few years back before Jenkins(no disrespect to him) we always had money. The city was always in the BLACK. Everyone use to chastise the old council members but the City always gave raises and took care of the employees. These included projects for the citizens. I dont understand why some cannot figure out what is going on and why the city is going broke. Im not sure who was lounging behind the Salvation Army but I wonder if they might have been on break?? Breaks are covered under FEDERAL LAW. Even if not on break when is the last time this person has had a raise?? This qrap you ought to be happy to have a job is getting old. Im sure this employee is meeting standards. But why should you exceed standards for this CITY?? Because SOME citizens only BITCH and never say anything good!!!!!!!!!!

If you would read some of these responses carefully and think about what is being said, the things people are writing are simply pointing out what is being done wrong and the very reason why we can't keep on making the same mistakes over and over.

Where have you been MJA? Where did the money go? Well you can start with the GM plant closing. Before then, there was a lot more money to work with (and spend unwisely). From that point on (and Donna has been on the council the entire time) they have frittered away money on everythng from un-necessary "consultants" to frivilous sidewalk projects. The laundry list is a long one.
The bottom line is this: As Mayor, Donna has not provided the needed leadership and the buck DOES stop with her. Council is only enabling her and she is too dumb to lead on her own. The department heads were asked to account for their budgets when Maria was acting mayor and one of Donna's first moves as mayor was to discontinue this practice.
And just because there has never been a state of the city doesn't make it ok. Should we tell Obama or Deal we don't need their reports too? The state of the city is an opportunity to present a vision and direction for the city and then follow through. Donna is just not capable and it frosts my balls that people don't hold her accountable.

Throw in little tidbits like Donna insisting on reading all the mail coming into city hall (is that in her job description??) to telling city officials they cannot respond to questions put to them by citizens....she has to provide all responses. Give me a break...do I hear paranoia here?

And also, Donna and members of council are constantly ganging up on Trudy and Robert because (news flash!!) they are trying to do their job and represent the people that voted them in instead of focusing on individual fiefdoms. We need to replace the majority of council who continues to roll their eyes and make like miserable for Trudy and Patrick. Instead, they should be following Trudy and Patricks example. Come election time, hopefully we can get the two some decent fellow council members interested in bucking Halpern and cleaning up this city.

Before I respond do you know how much taxes the GM plant brought in? I think you would be surprised that is was not the huge number everyone thought.

No MJA, the employee lounging behind the Salvation Army is NOT meeting any standards. I see him too many times "lounging" throughout the day to believe he gets that many breaks. The reason we have no money is because no one planned for the GM closure, even though we knew it was coming for 10 years before it happened. Follow that with fully paid city pension plans AND social security, wasteful spending, department heads who cannot write a budget let alone adhere to one and so much more stupidity that I doubt this little box would hold it all, and there are your answers. As for bitching and never saying anything good, we've heard that crap before. Sweeping the bad under the rug and not talking about it has put us where we are. "Accentuating the positive" and drooling over "movies under the stars" and getting excited over grant money for crepe myrtles and screwed up sidewalks have all contributed to this mess. The past when we were in the black is gone. This is now and people need to deal with it. Most of us in the real world learned to do more with less, we fully expect the city to do the same. By the way, NO ONE I know has gotten a raise in a long time so I'm not feeling like crying over some incompetent city workers with the best benefits south of Washington DC not getting one.
