Yeah, they are really short because nothing is accomplished. The ceremonial stuff is a joke. How about awarding someone for getting their jock itch under control??? Its about as useful. The midget surely can find something better to do between smokes and joy rides in the official car. Better yet, lets fire him and hire someone else like maybe a cop to control all this crime. Where are the priorities? None apparent. Seems like only patting themselves on the back and taking stuff under the table. Meanwhile, lawless Mexico reigns on the streets and prostitutes hang out at the quasi "shopping centers."

We truly do not need a "mayor's assistant", never have.

Do you realize he's the only one who accomplishes anything for the city? All the grants? He did it! You need to give him more credit!

You mean all those grants for sidewalks to nowhere that we paid 4 x's the going rate for because he convinced some of the folks who "accentuate the positive" that it was "free money"? Those the grants you're talking about? Or maybe it was the grant for the solar panels on the jail that should have been installed elsewhere.

Is this sarcasm or are you really that stupid?

Why, if he was gone, who would write ladonya's comments or do her work or be her spokesperson? He was hired because Jenkins was too ignorant to run the city and needed an "assistant" to get the day-to-day work done. It is long past time for him to go and let ladonya try to stand on her own two feet...it will be funny to see how long she would last.

Get rid of Luke and that lazy public works department head and finish up by firing the court clerk who allowed 3 million dollars to slip away.

If short meetings are the big accomplishment then we are in more trouble than I thought.

That cart barely moves with a horse pulling it. They are known as "worthless" and "more worthless".

I know let's celebrate communist day or prostitute's day (they are plently of availables within and nearby). How about a celebration of going broke? Now, that would be topical.

That is the most expensive and unnecessary pledge of allegiance with a court reporter present in the meetings. Come on, is this 3rd grade with the old school marm as the moderator?

Yeah, I'm convinced that at least half of those women using the sidewalks on Buford are hookers!

The sidewalks on Buford Highway had NOTHING to do with the city of Doraville or Luke's famous grant monies. The sidewalk he blessed us with runs behind city hall and I'm told that a large portion of it will be torn out and redone as soon as we get another grant. You would think since we paid 4 X's the going rate that it would have at least been done right. Stay tuned for more Calvert blue hair head shaking at the council meetings, she loves her some Luke and "free money" grants. But you are probably right about half the women being hookers, and the other half are probably in training.

Awww, now, short, "well run" meetings are the only accomplishment in the resume, let's not be too harsh. I mean she certainly can't take credit for that "balanced budget" she hyped in her campaign literature. I think 600K in the red is a long way from "balanced".

Agree. Fact is, a city the size of Doraville, with a budget running in the red, cannot afford a $70,000 mayor who can only perform as a ceremonial mayor and has an assistant making $45,000 plus where neither one has a clue about budgets and finances and marketing and planning and development.

How long will council prop up this mayor whose main claim to fame is assistant cheerleading coach? How long?

Somebody on that council has to put the taxpayers first. Doraville has comlex needs. The current mayor does not have what it takes to get this city out of the ditch. She just doesn't.

The current mayor can be a cheerleader for movies under the stars, and shake hands with dekalb county politicians but the city needs more than that.

Doraville needs a legitimate leader.

Doraville needs an Ethics Commission.

Doraville needs a legitimate Planning and Development Commission.

Doraville needs qualified department heads particularly in public works, the court, city clerk, permits clerk, and sanitation. Animal lovers say even in animal control.

Who is going to stand up for the residents and taxpayers?

Doraville needs qualified leaders and competent employees as manager of public works and clerk of the court.

Shame on mayor and council for wasting our tax dollars and for wasting away our city.

Council, read the charter and get with the program.

The residents and taxpayers are starting to stand up. Of course those that are standing up get berated by the idiots who voted for Donna. Everything you said is true, maybe you should join one of the organizations working on a grass roots level to bring about change. Northwoods Watchdog Association or Citizens for Progress are 2 that come to mind. Hell, join them both, they are actually getting things done.

Take out the assistant, and she falls flat on her face. His job is not even legitimate.
