The lack of attention by State officials had led the Velas to win in the past ISD election and fearfully in the mayor elections. It is a very serious situation when the voice of the people can't be heard. Progreso residents are worried in this Mayor election because they fear for vote fraud. After all, indirectly the Velas have been in vote fraud scandal before. But has anyone have thought that the City of Progreso needs to find the way after his name. Progreso needs State officals to be on the polls on election day.

I want to thank everyone who had replied. Jose Flores comment is interesting but not enough. Jose, remember they were early elections and there is no way of telling what could have happened then. The State is now investigating this election which i think is totally fare for the Progreso residents who want a change. My question to all of you is; Is a change really necessary for the city, or the actual mayor's proposals are promising and gives you confidence.

To postman yes change is really necessary for the city, The actual Mayor doesn't even show his face to reply to all the questions that the people of Progerso have or the media. He is use to letting daddy take care of it that's Lupe Vela, see this is the person that's really running the city and school,He does all the ordering on all that need to be done, though he uses someone else to do his orders. but those that do what Vela wants don't realize that they are going to be prosucuted by the county and state on everthing that they had done agiast the law.Yes there time has come THE PEOPLE OF PROGERSO HAVE SPOKEN!!!!!!!!

The issue is if the citizens of Progreso don't actively pursue answers to their questions, the state of the city won't change. Chances are, the reason why the Vela's were able to dominate the District polls is simply because the citizens who vote, unfortunately vote on who they are familiar with. Again, a majority of the citizens won't take the time to investigate the issues, and thus, creates a cycle that doesn't look to be stopped anytime soon.

In my opinion, the citizens need a just candidate in any position, municipal or school, who doesn't necessarily need to run independently but eradicate the issue from the inside. A figure that can make an impression on not only the voters, but the elected themselves. One who's agenda is not influenced by greed or power, but by the state and welfare of the city.

Oh yeah and actually it would be cool to be under welfare getting the lone star and what not, but what good does that do for my children. It just gives them a reason to be under welfare as well when their older. i really would not like for my family to repeat my mistakes.edu cation is what gives you the chance to succed and not be under welfare.LOSER
