Don't know who won, but I heard one contestant sing after the pageant. Whoa, buddy! Let's just say I hope she was pretty, because she'll never get anywhere with her singing talent. At least she had the guts to sing in front of a crowd, I don't.;)

Way to go A'dja! She is a very accomplished young lady. I wasn't there, but my girls told me Stephanie Tackett was the first alternate. I believe Steph is the incoming student body president and she covers DHS sports for the Prospect-News. Congratulations!

Its pretty sad that the USA has allowed colored people to get away with whatever they want. But, now Doniphan feels sorry for them and allows them to win the biggest pageant of Doniphan when i know for sure there is alot other girls that did better than her and looked alot better than her. just becuase she is colored doesn't mean we have to feel sorry for her. A pageant is about the best looking girl and the girl that caries her self not the color of her skin!

I saw the pictures in the paper and thought all the girls were very beautiful. Besides, it is not the childs fault, if some jealous soul thought she won due to her skin tone, it was the judges. Don't take away from her, and her win, take it out on the judges.

I personally think Adja Jones was a good choice. She is very pretty and, I dont know her but, she seems to be a good kid. She was a good choice no matter her color.
Could you explain to me why white girls would be called beautiful if they had her skin color by tanning to get it, but because this young woman is part black someone would consider her ugly?
I'm just glad to see that the winner probably wasn't picked because of her last name or who her parents are, like most years.

A'dja Jones doesn't need anyone to feel sorry for her. She is talented, accomplished and will do great things in life. She was a star in high school in music, drama and prior to a terrible knee injury, she was a very good basketball player. Besides, the judges are never from Doniphan.

In my opinion, Miss Ripley County Fair is bigger than Miss Current River because the winner advances to the Missouri State Fair.

Finally, who the heck says "colored" anymore?

you're a jackass

and Darin, no one except idiot racists use the word "colored" anymore.

And another thing, Miss USA ... do you think Barack (your next president) will win the election because people feel sorry for him?

The most ugly things around here are ignorance and racism!! Most of the world's problems right now can be traced to people that think their skin color or religion is better than someone elses. I will pray for you!

hey miss usa, you need to know a person before you judge them and then no one is judge another. Believe you me, I could judge you and put into many many negative words right now, but i will not lower myself to your level.

A'dja is a very intelligent, beautiful lady who would never hurt a flea. She deserves that title just as much as anyone else.

Find another subject to talk about that you know nothing about!!!!!!

The NAACP does. Don't really understand that one, but answers your question. I think.

Why do parents put soooo much make-up on the little kids? That looks so fake! They are naturally pretty kids they don't need all that stuff on there faces. Sorry just curious~

That was a joke, by the way, Darin. I agree that no one uses the word anymore. But I do think that the NAACP is due for a name change if they find that word offensive.

I have to admit that it did my heart good to read most of the posts on this thread. Wasn't too many years ago that you would find a forum in Doniphan that would jump to the defense of anyone other than a white person. Maybe times are a changin'! We can hope.

You should be ashamed of yourself for saying such bull. Ms. Jones is a very pretty girl on the outside and on the inside. Her skin color doesn't matter. I have two of the most beautiful nephews put on this earth and they are biracial and I would absolutely beat someone if they made a racial slur about them. Apparently, you have no morals about yourself. I am not the one you need to be worrying about judging you, your time will come when you are before GOD. May God Bless Your Soul.
