I recently attended a little reunion at a local bar and was amazed to see a great number of nurses drunk and acting stupid. I thought they were supposed to be held to higher standard not staggering around talking how they're gonna whip so and so. If you really want to have a good time go to a bar don't drink and watch the ignorance!

and lets don't forget about doctors, lawyers.
policemen and never forget about firemen, judges,
all city hall personal,city workers.

low lives. we are real people with real
feelings and needs.

No one said they weren't suppose to go out. The issue was act like fools. I've seen young teachers who teach our children dancing on tables cussing like sailors every other word is f word. Everyone likes to have a good time and relax but acting like a drunk teenager is not professional. I believe that is the issue they are discussing "being professionally"

Nurses clock in-while our badge is on we are yelled at, cussed, made fun of, complained to, complained on, hit on, cried on, pooped on, peed on, vomited on, bled on, hugged on, thanked, praised, admired, despised, belittled, screamed at, whispered to, depended on, exhausted, excited, helpful, hopeless, and uplifted. We clock out and leave it all at the door. Please do not make us take it everywhere we go...we agree to go back and do it over and over. We are human and our career is not who we are off the clock. I have gone as far as to lie about my career because of the expectations. Now lets start this thread with "PEOPLE" instead of nurses.

that's what i said,
only us real people can act that way.
aren't WE suppose to have manners and pride and
self-respect also?
or does it just pertain to others that WE expect
to show those virtues?
do you object to others acting that way or do you expect it?
so the way you see it is that only professionals
should not act like fools only the lower class
non-professionals.
they are people too with everyday problems we all
have. myself i don't think anyone should act that
way or hang out in bars.
have you ever acted that way? are you a professional or just a run of the mill partier?
and you where the one(in your opinion) stating how professionals should behave.

Again the issue is not having a life and a good time but acting like that does not represent the hospital you work for very well. Yes nurses have a tough job but doesn't excuse actions or how they carry themselves in public. But if they chose to spend weekends drunk and acting like so a thing, so be it! That is the choice they make and no good will come of it.

Do YOU act professional at night clubs? What's important is that they are professional at work. This probably isn't the real issue to begin with. You guys are maybe just a little bit bitter that they can live in the professional world and still step into yours from time to time and just kick back. Maybe you feel like their success should come with a price.. Maybe.

I am in the professional field and yes I do act professional at night clubs. Not like a h*e! I have seen exactly what witness and amazed are talking about from some of our nurses and teachers around the area at Patsy's. Everyone enjoys a few drinks but there is no need to act like a Pony girl! No one is jealous of your success and definately not your behavior.

I also work in the medical profession. And I agree with Nurse. When we clock out of our job we are on our time. So if you don't like the way we act outside of work stay away from the bar.
