Does anyone know why a Superinetendent with a Doctorate degree would take such a drastic cut in pay to become a middle school principal in Doniphan? It might be worth checking out.

Actually the new principal isn't taking a great pay loss coming to Doniphan. He is a good man and will be a great asset for the Doniphan School District especially in the Junior High.

I heard rumored the cut in pay isn't very much at all. I also have heard that the school (ECC)didn't renew his contract. Wish I knew if either were true.

I heard the cut in pay was only about $4,000.00 per year, but the board did not renew his contract, but I think he still had two years left on his current contract. I heard it was the worst evaluation of a sup at ECC in 20 years.

No one will probably ever know for sure unless they are very close to the situation, but I wouldn't be surprised in light of what transpired at school this past year.

I just hope the kids at doniphan don't have to pay for the naive decision of their school board when they hired him. I think he genuinely cares about the kids, so maybe he will do great as principal. All the positive stuff I have heard about him happened while he was serving as principal, maybe that is where he belongs. I hope so, for their sake.

He is a great person that may have made some mistakes...but we all do and we all learn from them. He will be a great asset to Doniphan. He's a great father, teacher, husband, and friend. I'm sure he has regrets but don't we all. I know some of the ones that bad mouths him in Ellsinore has a great past that they SHOULD be ashamed of.

This guy could and probably will be wonderful that is if the Junior High Teachers give him a chance.
Where the real problem is, is with the Doniphan School Board. There is an Election coming up an the people of Ripley County really needs to clean house!!!!! Jackson is moving he doesn't even need to be running they encouraged him to run so if he won Burke and Bass could appoint Bobby Barnett. These guys truly don't have your child's best interest at heart. Why is Bass running anyway? It must be a power thing.

Why is it someone from Oxly cares about what the Doniphan School Board does. What I have seen from you don't pay enough taxes to buy a note book.

Looks like the new middle school principal didn't get elected for the school board in VB, too bad, I'm sure he felt he was qualified.

Yes, I also heard he was very upset over not getting a seat.

Without doubt, he was very qualified and had
a good record or surely he would not have been
hired. Give the guy a chance before making
your decision that he will fail. Everyone deserves a chance.

I agree that every school system has its problems, but most of the administration care about the welfare of the kids above anything else. I'm sorry to say that Mr. H. failed to prove that to several parents in the East Carter system this past year. He was caught in several bald faced lies, lies to parents, lies to faculty, lies to the board themselves, I truly hope he has seen the error of his ways, and realizes the consequences that come with his actions. I pray, for the sake of the kids in Doniphan,( have family members there) that he quits lying and starts putting the best interest of the kids and their well-being first instead of everything else (covering his own tail being his most important objective thus far.) Good luck to you and all the students and parents at Doniphan, I truly wish you the best education possible for your kids.

So far I find this site quite repulsive on it's inabilty to back it "so called facts" about Doniphan School Board. First of all, the bomb threat that occurred happened on a Monday. The school board met the next Tuesday and voted to announce the threat and to cancel school. So for the malicious rumor and lie about the school board incumbents voting to not tell the public is a lie!!! Secondly, Jackson wasn't positive he was moving and was not running just to put someone else on the board. He did help start a new church in Holcomb, but it didn't mean his family was for sure moving. Mr. Jackson is a wonderful Christian man who puts not only his family, but all children of Doniphan's School systems needs first. To write things that are untrue and not backed with any proof is very immature and quite sad for the individual doing so. I have contacted Mr. Jackson before on several school issues and he has always graciously did his best to see that the right thing was done. He is an honest man who deserves the respect to be questioned about his motives and intentions before untrue speculation is printed on websites like these. This is a nice website for those who are willing to talk about the truth and not "hear say" or their individual idea of what the truth is.

I know Mr. H from Van Buren and I am very excited and proud to have him here in Doniphan to help our children. I only wish that the high school could get somebody as good as Mr. H.
