I have heard a few brief comments regarding the child molestation case in Doniphan since that event was originally spoken of on KY8. Whatever our country , our cities, our states are doing to correct this problem, has obviously not be affective, as perversion seems to be out there everywhere.

I was recently shopping in Little Rock, and was visiting a well known book store. When I went up to make my purchase, a lady in her forties , I would say, was getting quite loud, as she was commenting on the porn located in the store. She also commented that a large chain of well known pharmacy stores also had porn in their stores.

The lady looked around at me as she was talking to the clerk. I looked her in the eye, and I said, "Good for you!" The cashier, however, was not responsible, and didn't deserve the verbal comments. She should have asked to speak to the manager.

It is our duty, if we care, to contact every business that sells paper goods, to tell them we will stop our shopping there, and spread the news to other parents if they do not take the trash off the shelves.

It is a hard battle, for parents, for all of us, and in my case, a grandmother of beautiful grandchildren that prays everyday that some "sick head" will not do something to one of them.(It seems they are not even safe on a school bus.)

Last year, my granddaughter got on the wrong bus. She was in back of the bus riding along and when the driver took the bus back to school, he noticed my little granddaughter. Thanks be to God, he was not a pervert, but he might have been.

Our only hope to try and control the environment for our children is to become active, and this is not easy for many of us who work. But it has to be done. We have to "raise hell", as nothing will get done unless we do. We must think of the price if we do not.

Let us not get embarrassed to speak out loudly. It seems that these are the only ones who get heard, and we need to be heard NOW.

Officials should see that testing is given , that is, psychological testing, that police profiling is done, and a good background check before any school staff is hired. I also think that a teacher should be riding the buses with the driver. One person on a bus is not enough, as controlling children , that many, needs more than one person. I know, as I used to teach school and have ridden a bus with school children. This does not go on in most districts. Don't take "no" for an answer.

Parents, grandparents, you have much power with a school board. Take your job seriously. Speak up, speak loudly, and make the staff at your school take their jobs seriously enough to make the necessary changes for our children's environment.

Thank for reading.

You are so very right and I'm proud of you, Brenda, for standing up to your beliefs and that the fact that we , standing together, have the power to move mountains. We can also band together to eliminate the molestation of our precious children and to make the school district take action to elimiate any chance of this ever occuring again.

I know this is not the first bus driver that was taken to police station for molestation. The other one Glen Milwood was not convicted. It didn't happen on the bus, but happened at his home. I just don't know what this world is coming to.

A conviction for any crime takes good, strong
evidence. Often time the "perverts" are
smart enough to leave very little evidence
behind. We must teach our children to protect
themselves against these sick individuals.

Does anyone know what is going on in this case with the bus driver? Has he went to trial yet or is he free to roam Doniphan?

Wow, the kids that this happened to were in pre-k and now they are about a month shy of finishing kindergarten and this guy is still walking free. I can understand putting some trials off, I know the courts are over-booked. But come on! If we can't push up dates to get a child molestor off the streets than I don't know why we have a legal system at all. Is anyone on this message board a lawyer or work in the legal field? Can you give me a good explanation why its been well over a year and this man hasn't even went to trial yet? And I don't want to hear, well he's had a preliminary hearing, then a continuance was issued, blah, blah, blah. This is pure bull s&^%!Why is it that someone who has grown pot been kept in jail without bond, yet a grown man who finds 4 year old girls and boys sexually attractive is allowed to do as he pleases for a year and counting? Don't we owe it to our children to get this thing on the road?

And who in the heck posted this guy's bond? I sure hope it isn't the bondsman who has a child that is the same age of the kids who were molested. And yet I wouldn't be surprised at all if that's the one that posted it. And I also imagine the longer the trial takes to happen, the better for this guy and his lawyer. 4 year old's memories don't last forever.

Okay this is going to get me hated but I do not care...
All the perverts running free that didnt go to trial or even get a charge against them is just as much the parents fault as it is the pervs!
Allow me to explain myself
I have a friend who was molested. Her mother didnt want her going through court because" she had been through enough".....
THIS IS BULL!!!! PARENTS LISTEN AND HEED THE WARNING WHEN YOU DO THIS YOU ARE TAKING A CHANCE WITH THAT SAME PERV. DOING THIS TO SOMEONE ELSE'S CHILD AND THAT IS NOT YOUR CHOICE TO MAKE!!!!!!
Yes I know it can scar a child but you know what its worth it to keep a SICK TWISTED child molester or rapist off our streets! even if they dont go to jail they will be on a registered sex offender list and others can make sure their children do not be around them...
SO SUCK IT UP AND TAKE THAT FRAKKER TO COURT!!!!!!!!!!

Something I didn't understand about the children that were molested by the bus driver is that the bus was late getting them home on a couple of different occasions. I'm not blaming the parents so please don't take it that way but if my kids bus is that late (seems like it said it was an hour but don't quote me) then I'm going to find out what is up with that, not put them back on it. If anybody has any clarification on this, please tell me. I just never understood why the kids were put back on the bus if there was something questionable going on.

I'm overprotective these days and it seems I trust nobody. I just can't imagine what these parents have been through. I, personally, feel that we all keep our mouths shut too much when it comes to children. When we see abused children, we look the other way. Since the government doesn't want to put stiffer punishments on people who choose to abuse a child in any way, I think it's up to us to say we're not going to put up with it. Enough is enough.

I'm not sure it is possible to be "over" protective, particularly when it comes to child molestation. It is a problem as old as time. I don't if it is worse now or if it just comes to light more often because people are more aware. Either way, we all want tougher penalties for these crimes, but I'd just settle for a higher conviction rate. That is a tough task, considering that a lot of times the victims of these crimes are too little to be effective witnesses. As someone else said earlier in this thread, the perps know what they are doing when they mess with a victim that isn't really able to adequately aid the prosecution and they are usually the only witness to the crime.

I've wondered about that myself. I drive a bus and I have parents waiting for me in the morning and in the afternoon. If I'm more than a few minutes late they are wondering what is going on. I broke down one afternoon and the bus was late but the school called the parents to tell them what was going on.

I imagine there is much more to this story than has been made public. It just wouldn't be possible in my experience to disappear for over an hour with a bus. Someone had to know something wasn't right. I can't imagine what type of excuse a driver would have for being that late. Surely no one believed the bus had broken down more than once? And if it had, wouldn't another bus have been sent out to continue taking the kids home.

My heart breaks for those poor little kids and their families. What a nightmare for them all.

listen he is not the only one who has molested children and gotten away with it. i know of children under 4 who have been molested by family members and when one of the children finally spoke up CPS took the perverts side and claimed coaching in a visitation case and they are roaming free and have contact with other children. so what does that say about the state funded CHild Prostitution Services to you. i will belive a child before i would ever take the word of an adult. and anyone who sticks up for these perverts are just as guilty and the ones who molested the child.
what would you do

I agree we have to protect the children. But do you have a clue how many parents these days use the kids as a weapon in a divorce/custody battle? Do you know how many parents make the child say that Daddy (or Mommy) did this or that to them to get back at the other parent?

So what would you do as a caseworker? It's not as clear cut as we would like to see it. The caseworkers in this area have one of the toughest jobs around. Their workload is continually growing. The staff in the Butler and Ripley County offices is continually being reduced. The required documentation and reports on each case continues to increase. I'm glad they are willing to do those jobs, because I sure wouldn't for what they get paid!!!

I drive a school bus at the Doniphan Bus Garage. I was not around when everything was going on with Mr. Griffith but know the story and have spoken to several other bus drivers and all agree that the children WERE molested...but not by the accused. The one who molested them moved off not too long after this all came to light. Mr. Griffith is being falsely accused simply because his name is the only one the children could remember. Little kids can't always remember their bus driver's name, and if it is a substitute driver it is even worse. My heart goes out to Mr. Griffith and my whole family is praying for him as he goes throuh this nightmare. I am also praying for the family of the children who were molested. No one should have to go through that. I also hope that the REAl criminal here is found and brought to justice. He said he was moving to "Oregon" but who would actually move where they said they were if they thought there was a chance of someone tracking them down...?
I agree

He is out on bond, and he is running doniphan, and i don't think it is right for him to be free, and i know this cuz my son was one of those kids, and etting him to ride a bus is a different story i have to home school him now,he does not feel safe to go to school no more. My son will not go to town cuz he is afraid that bob will be there and hurt him again, the trial is set for sept, 17,18 and 19. I just don't believe he should run town at all and make these poor children have to see this man, and yes they do take the stand in court right infront of this man, which i think is wrong, cuz my son wont say nothing on stand with bob staringright at him, my son is to scared. but, i do apreciate all that stand behind us, and our children. thanks to all. I just hope he doesn't get set free, my son will never be the same again. He has to see councilors and phsycs every week, over this, and trust me these kids are not febbin they no way more about this man and where he lives to be fibbin.(not sayin you'r sayin they are but i no a few that is sayin they are febbin)
