It is in the old c&f furniture building. Is it a good flea market?

Yes, it is a good flea mkt. If you have not shopped there you should make a stop.

They sell items fast, so I found out if I see something I want, I better get it when I see it because next time it will be gone.

Everyone should go check it out.

And shopping at the local flea market is an excellent way to save money PLUS keep your money local (not going to some nameless CEO at WalMart ... money we will never se again).
You spend money at the flea market -- it stays right here in Ripley!

I have a booth down there and we sell lots of stuff. Kids clothes, household misc., antiques, just about anything. If there is something you may be looking for just stop by and ask. They usually know what each vendor puts in there so they can point you in the right direction if they have what you want. Lots of things to pick from.

The building smells pretty nasty in there. Guess its been sitting closed up so long. No time to air out and it doesnt have central heat and air probably. Looks like a big ceiling heater. Probably to expensive to run an air purifier, but it smells like it needs one.

I know that it is warm in there, but I do not know what you are smelling.

I have a very sensitive nose myself and it hasn't picked up any musty smells while there.
agree with you

Yes, I was in there last weekend. I agree, it does smell musty in there. The building has been vacant along time with no circulation in it. If there is no leaky ceiling then it should get better with time and circulation in it.
I think they have nice stuff in there. Would have looked longer if it had not been for the odor.

I'd say it smells like the very old building that it is. My family owns an old farmhouse that was originally built in the late 1800's, and it has much the same smell. I've always thought it was from age and not getting alot of fresh air.

I have had no problem with the workers. They seem very nice and helpful.

I went in today to look and I also did some sniffing of the air in different places. There was one place that was a bit musty smelling. There had also been a leak apparently because of the rain. That is possibly what you smell, from previous leaking and the insulation is wet. Hopefully it will be taken care of and the smell will leave after it all gets cleaned up and dryed out.

I have been in places that have all that incense and other perfumy stuff over powering you with the smell and it gets my allergies going.

It is best to find the problem with the odor, if it be leaks or whatever and fix the problem. Covering it up with overpowering perfume is not the answer.

Wish you would elaborate on what you are talking about, because it is a consignment place. If a person has things consigned for them to sell, the owners need to be honest above and beyond the call of duty. They are basicly selling of you if you have a booth there. Please tell more and the truth please!

Ok if you are going to make a comment like that perhaps you need to tell all, or at least what you think was dishonest. If it doesn't pertain to the business, I think you should make it clear.

Perhaps you are another business person of another flea mkt in Doniphan and the competition is getting tough? With comments like you made we can come to all kinds of conclusions.

Oldies and Goodies is definately a good place to shop. They have all different items. You can find new and used, plus antiques. I love the idea of being able to go to one place and find a bit of everything. If you are in the decorating business this would be a great place to go.

The employees are always ready to help you. They are very nice.

I don't know how much more stupid people can get. It is hard enough for people around doniphan as it is and even harder for businesses to get buy already and then have people grip about how a flee market smells in the winter time. I would normaly say don't go in but anyone that has a atasidy to be in business in hard times has my vote and to make it work seems to have the vote of a lot of people. I have shopped there a couple of times and found a few bargins each time. Good luck oldies and goodies and any other business in town for that matter.
