Billy Yates is famous. He does alot of tours in Europe and is extremely famous there. I think if you have had songs done by a famous person and if you have your own songs on the radio, seems pretty famous to me. To the person who said he wasn't, Just what have you done? He wrote the "famous" song " I don't need your rocking chair" that was done by George Jones and in fact, he and his wife were married at George Jones home. Sounds pretty famous to me!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Billy Yates is famous and spends most of his year on tour. The rest of the time he can be found in Nashville at the Grand Old Opry or his recording studio or writing songs with fellow songwriters. If you are on a first name basis with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, and they talk about how great you are, then you are famous. Sounds to me like you may be a bit jealous of Billy and how well he has succeeded. No doubt you might could have done something with your life, had you tried any at all.

Chuck Norris was born in Ryan Oklahoma and presently lives in Dallas. If you have Waylon Jennings talk about how great you are, something is really whacko, he died in 2002 in Arizona.

Hank Williams Jr. has a cabin on the river here. Larry Byrd has a big house here but it is up above Grandin. Barbara Mandrell's mother was in the nursing home here in Doniphan. There are several famous people with ties here.
