My mom has this beautiful glass pear with a partridge on a tree inside.

This will be the first year I put up my own tree, and I don't have anything really meaningful to put up. My sisters and I used to make angels out of colored feathers, so maybe I'll do that.

My favorite ornaments are 3 matching teddy bears that have a cutout where the heart should be and has the birthstones of my sisters and I instead. My mom hangs them on the tree with my eldest sister at the top and me at the bottom....I love those ornaments!

Now I have my own family and each year my husband and I buy a new one with our names engraved on them and one for our daughters.

It is CHRISTMAS. The most important word in Christmas is CHRIST. You may think it is a shorter way to right it but you forget, this world is slowly but surely coming to an end and you need all the forgiveness you can get.

In other words, My favorite decoration is Christmas Lights.:D

Growing up in a religion that didn't celebrate Christmas you can imagine my relief when at the age of 29 I finally broke free and was able to celebrate Christmas. My boyfriend at the time (and now my husband) bought me a beautiful Precious Moments with "My First Christmas" and the year engraved on it. To this day, I love that ornament more than any other!

An idea for parents: Each year buy a ornament for your child and then when that child grows up and moves out, let them take "their" ornaments with them! That way they can have a pretty tree without alot of expense when they are first starting out! I have done that with my step-daughter and she loves it.

I don't care much for the abbreviation "Xmas" myself but it actually has historical meaning.

Back in the early days of Christianity when the early Christians met in homes and caves and out in the woods or where ever they could be not caught, they would use the X symbol and the fish symbol to let other Christians know of a meeting place.

So, it isn't really taking the Christ out of Christmas,(which means Christ's Mass if you didn't know) to us "X-mas", more like including the cross in Christ's Mass.

I love that! I had no idea, and it is so interesting. I was feeling sort of bad for the "Xmas" thing, but you really took the pain away. Thank you for sharing!

Actually, in those days when criminals were crucified with the cross it was in an X shape rather than the T shape we use more commonly.

Today looks particularly good for improving your earning capacity or working conditions. Events that develop around them could help to improve your self-esteem. You need to be wary of a friend's motivation because things aren't as simple as they seem.
