I have had a problem with Dana Griffen too. She has been ok with my son so far, but I have heard her yelling at other students and talking bad about the teacher who taught the student before she got them. So idk. She prob talks bad about us parents when we are not around.

Well you are talking bad about her on this public site, so you aren't any better...Besides she is a good person....Go to school with your problems, don't hide behind the computer and post this crap on here.....

Mrs Henson is a very good teacher in my opinion. She currently teaches my daughter, and I know she is a handful ;) The elementary art teacher on the other hand.. her retirement is LONG past due!

I say give all teachers a big round of applause as well as a huge raise and better benefits. my parents and I and my kids and now my grandkids all attended The doniphan school as well as gatewood and lonestar too and I am very thankful there are teachers out there thats still even willing to teach. what with all the dangers there are now in the schools worldwide. and all us parents and grandparents should get more involved in our childrens and grandchildrens education by attending the meetings and public activities they provide. If we feel our child is not treated well thats where we have a one on one meeting at school with their teacher and or counsuler, sorry I am old now and can't spell good. If I was able I would send a rose to each and every teacher in the doniphan, lonestar and gatewood schools. and maybe even a box of candy.

Well, if she's as bad as what you say, aren't you afraid she'll read this. If the poor woman is a bad as you and the other slanderer are saying, I don't think I'd want to invite trouble for my child. It probably wouldn't be too hard to figure out who the author of the post is. Fortunately, she wouldn't be the type of person who would do that. It does sound like it would be something in your character. There are proper steps to follow when people are not doing their jobs. I do not believe topix is part of that. Topix is not a way to solve problems, it creates a means for people to post lies and hurtful things without owning up to it.

Once again we have parents setting a poor example for their children by posting on this public forum instead of addressing the problem with the teacher, and the student. Teach your children the art of back-stabbing and making a problem bigger by using this vigilante tactic to circle the teachers whose job is only frustrated by parents who won't get on board with their children's educational needs and goals.

Life is about choices. We must teach our children to make choices that create more choices for them, and that when they choose badly, it eliminates choices and, thusly, opportunities. Reading is power - and so few parents today take the time to read daily with their children. Children who can read well seldom have problems in school - and seldom have difficulties with teachers even if they are not the teacher's pet. Not all teachers are good, the good ones are rare these days, which is why it is so important for parents to be the primary source of their children's education, social, and moral development. Why would you entrust these important aspects of a child's life to a stranger? Parents must oversee their child's development, and when it goes in a direction that is not fruitful, take control and reinfrorce the elements that are lacking in that developmental area of your child's life.

It is too easy to whine and point fingers. It is much more difficult and time consuming to be involved in your child's life in the home, before and after school. Seriously, I doubt if this mother takes that time, and of course there is no way to be sure and she will no doubt respond with a barrage of accusations of self-defense, but, frankly, if she's posting here instead of reading with her child and instead of taking meetings to understand what the teacher sees as her child's academic needs, this poor kid is yet another who will fall to the wayside of parental neglect and will either have to find the wherewithall to rise above his or her circumstances and fend for self; or give in to the neglect and repeat it in his or her own life. Sad, sad, sad.

Sheila, don't worry about getting on here and defending yourself. It is pointless. It is a bunch of morons anyway that post to start crap. Those of us with a higher education, who do not blame the school system for our child's screw ups, know the truth. As parents, we should take the blame for the way our children act instead of putting it all off on the teachers.

Wait a second!!!You that are bad-mouthing this person for posting, can you honestly say that you have been thrilled with every teacher that you child or your grandchild had in this school system? Come on!!There are some good teachers here a!nd I will give them credit for that and a big Thank You but their are also come that are not. Some differ with their kindness from child to child. We all know that!!!My children went to Doniphan School all the way through to high school and for the most part, I have been very pleased. However, there were a couple that we barely made it through the year without crying not to go back into their classroom. My husband and I have been very much hands-on parents and extremely involved in our children school activities, school work, etc. Don't tell this school system is perfect because it is not!!
Anyone of your children have Charlene Ivy? Must not have!!

Then give us your name and where you work. Allow all the cowards sitting at their big bad computers a chance to say if they aren't happy with the way you do things.

This is probably the type of parent that has many move-ins during the course of a school year. Therefore, they can't be bothered to help their child with any of their work at home. As a result of bad parenting the child falls through the cracks. However, they want to blame the teacher when the finger is pointing right back at them.
