buck or doe, big or little it taste good if you cook it right. rabbit taste good too, but i will not eat squirrl, their cousins to the rats. unless of course i was starving then i would eat anything i suppose.

Rabbits are cousins to rats, as well (family: rodentia?)

Cleaning the meat on all wild game is crucial. Removing glands, sub-q fat, etc.. all affects the taste of the meat.

Older deer are somewhat tougher than younger deer, and the taste is a little different, based on deer of different age taken from the same area (same diet). Tougher meat, however isn't a problem. BBQ, chili, and crock-pots are admirable tools for this.

Actually, rabbits are in their own order, Lagomorpha, which is unrelated to the order Rodentia, so rabbits are not closely related to rats. There are tons of physical differences between the two orders, and can be readily identified if you know what you are looking for, even in a skeleton. As for the handling of meat, regardless of how young or old, I totally agree!

I used to raise rats for my ball python while in college. I was tempted, LOL. I like squirrel, and these were "home raised" rodents, so to speak.

Rat isn't that bad. I'd MUCH rather eat squirrel. They subsist on nuts, berries, etc...

Rats, on the other hand......

You are what you eat, I suppose. But with a little thai sauce and some grilling....edible.
