I am thinking of working at the local nursing home. I have my RN license and would like to work Days. Anyone know what the pay range is?

You do NOT want to work there. They are going under fast. They received a 1 out of 5 rating on their last state inspection (way below average) and are at 46% capacity. You can look it up online. They have serious reports of patient neglect. They also treat their employees like crap unless you get in with the druggie click that runs the nursing side. Do real research before you apply, you'll save yourself headaches later.

I wonder how it is legal also to have to do a 16 hr shift? No wonder these poor residents are abused/neglected!Italked to oour Rep. a few yrs ago when my mother was a resident,@ he agreed w/me that something needed to be done, but they are still having to pull dooubles when someone doe not show up on the next shift,no matter if they have worked ALLnite then have to stay over till 3 pm,this is not right. They would not have such a big turnover if this was not happening.

They do all kinds of illegal crap there. They think because the owners can afford attorneys they can do anything they want! They cuss out employees and treat them like garbage. Any other place would get in trouble for supervisors cursing out employees! They force them to pull doubles by threatening to report them for neglect if they leave with no one to cover the next shift! It's bs, they have told cna's before if you don't stay I will have your license revoked, we will say you left your residents unattended... They should be shut down. There is so much neglect & abuse swept under the rug there it's not funny.

I know I put up with alot a crap too. They will take advantage of you. They have some real trash people workin there, there was even 1 girl on parole workin there. They charge you for background checks but I don't think they even look at them. Cause some of their employees have been in the paper for theft & for drug charges & they still work there. Those old people most of them aren't able to tell anyone when they are being neglected. It ain't right.

I used to work there too!! I did not work there long tho! They would threaten me all the time if I left I would be in trouble for abandonment etc and I would not get hired in this field ever again with a charge like that! So, I stayed and worked over! I have a family member working there and they take advantage of her all the time. On Christmas they even tried to make her stay another shift after she worked a double!!! Crazy! My family member loves being a CNA, and has been for 25 plus years. I do think HUGE changes need to be made for the welfare of the residents and for their good working employees!

Thank God I'm not the only one who got pushed around at that place! It was bad! I got kids too! I tried to support them honest(not like alot of people around here) & they made the job a nightmare. I got sick to my stomach every morning walking in. The place smells like straight urine. I had people eat my lunch out the fridge more than once. So I put food in a lunch box but the place is full of roaches. So I couldn't take the lunch box cause I didn't wanna bring roaches home. They know about so much illegal stuff but don't care unless state inspectors are there. Then they run like chickens with their heads cut off trying to do things the way their supposed to be. Save yourself headaches go to the bluff for work.

. I had the same problem. I took a cussing from the don. That's all it took. I went the next day & put in apps at other places. You ain't gotta put up with white trash in charge. That's all they got there. That Kim is not professional at all. She acts like she's straight out the trailer park.

Don't you think that if the place smells like straight urine it is because the cnas are not doing their job? If the cnas are not doing their job then that IS neglect and maybe they don't need to be working where old people depend on them for their needs.
it is sad that 16 hour shifts have to be worked but from what I am reading i would make a bet that all of you who worked there called in and never thought about the fact that you were forcing someone else to have to work over.
maybe the reason that some people work there is because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to give someone a bath or give them a meal. but if the place smells like straight urine and the people are neglected maybe they just need smarter cnas or some that care.

How do they get by working the employees 16 hrs? I think 12 hr shifts are way too long for health care workers. They get tired and forgetful.
