how about this school day? Am I the only one who feels like action needs to be taken about this? Students falling all day.icy roads. This is not acceptable!

Then maybe you should take it up with all superintendents because all area schools went to school today except for very few.

If your kids fall on the playground you going to call for the blacktop to be carpeted? Your from the city huh?

I thought the director of transportation made the decision, but calls were referred to the superintendent's office. Bad decision considering the weather advisories for pending weather. Guess he was worried about the money, not the kids.

Well, if you didn't feel that it was "safe" for your children to be out today then you should have kept your kids home. That is what I do. Sometimes you have to do what your gut tells you instead of relying on someone else to do it for you. I had so rather be safe than sorry.

The decision is actually made by the director of transportation. He is in charge of transportation therefore the decision is his.

My kids used to go there and now when I visit, I'm very happy to see all the progress inside and out and hear of the test scores improving. I can imagine those tough decisions are not easy to make and either way, close or open, someone will think either is not the right decision. With every wrong or right decision, there's always room for improvement for the next time.

I guess it's alright for kids lives to be put in danger around here now.. No I have been here all my life as well as the seven generations before me. How long have you been here? We used to look out for the community but that is all but gone with this new "factory number mentality" ... Just wait until something happens to you or yours to change your vision.

Also I did keep mine home. Our black top was iced over at 5 am.
