Bill Mills in Blakely came highly recommended for another kind of civil matter. You'll have to get his number. Give him a call

The best attorney for a divorce for a man or woman is Josh Bell in Bainbridge. His secretary is very helpful and will still give me advice 2 years after my divorce has been finalized..

My recommendation would be Doug Hall in Blakely. Second would be Bill Mills. Both are in book. Doug is a little expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Butch is good, but will tell you himself he's 'too old' to handle anything but a simple, cut and dry divorce--no children, assets, etc.

ROTFLMAO....I learned from my mistake and never had to use another divorce att'y. If you have to keep on using Josh for divorces maybe you better rethink a few things. Unless you're a gold digger and if you are sounds like you're not getting all you want so you still need to re-think a few things!

Chip Stewart couldn't get eleceted Magistrate Judge and you don't even need a law degree for the position. A non-lawyer beat him out and the best wo-man won. Look back through the blogs on this site. So far Wilma has had a lot of good choices. These two are bad ones.

Josh Bell is a great attorney and fights for his clients. I used him and was happy with him. I would use him again. His secretary is okay but could be a little nicer.

Ben Kirbo is a great attorney. He is not a judge. He is the state prosecutor for Decatur County State Court. Josh Bell is the judge for several cities in the area. Josh is a good attorney but I could do without his secretary. She tried to give me legal advice that was not correct and I don't think she was supposed to do that since she is not an attorney herself. She was rude too and had foul language.

If it can be worked out, try getting a mediator that both of you are comfortable with. Work out all the small details and then go together and get the divorce. These damn attorneys just wait for someone to come in and get a divorce. They just LOVE it when you are fighting and hating each other and take two to three years to work it out. I have seen people spend 10,000 to 20,000 dollars to get a divorce. An attorney hates it when you come in civilly and tell him what you want and just get the papers drawn up. Do what you have to do but regardless of who you get, have your billfold open. They gonna take and take and take.

Not all attorneys are like this. When I used Josh Bell, he told me it would be better if my husband and I could agree. He also told me it would cost me less money. The good attorneys are very busy all of the time and would prefer you to work it out. Some divorces do take longer simply because there is more to fight about and the two people are normally acting like children. My husband and I were able to work it out and were divorced 33 days after the papers were filed with the Court.
