well @ least the probation officer knows how to find them now

most likely if a person breaks probation once they are going to do it again or have done it on several occasions before actually getting caught...sometimes to let one sit and stew over there problems and what they did to get themselves into a situation is the best thing you can do for them...tends to make people see how stupid they were and how not to be stuck in that spot again

Maybe you don't understand what probation is....probation is a set of rules you have to go by as an option to being incarcerated. If you don't go by the rules, you lose your freedom and your ass winds up in jail....your friend couldn't play by their rules and now is in jail, where his ass needs to be

Could not have said it better myself. Probation violation warrents very seldom if ever have a bond set for exactly the reason you stated above.

in court today a man who beat up and robbed a woman got a reduced sentence and he made bond ..thats not what i am talking about .. i am saying why hold the person till they go to court to see if they are guilty or not why hold them months just to let them know you rule.. i am against breaking probation .. i am also against people to be fair .. like some one shoots at someone and won't even get charged .. this didn't just happen it happen 2003. and there is other things.. how about kidnapping the person didn't even go to court and every one who works with the law knew about it and done nothing

I believe once a person breaks the law and is arrested, that person goes to jail. Depending on severity of the crime or if they are a flight risk, they can set bail or not. There are also public defenders and district attorneys who work on pleas so that has an impact as well.

If someone is let out on probation there are certain rules they must follow in order to maintain their freedom. If they do not abide by them, they will be arrested again.

You don't quite understand it do you.....He was on probation and he failed to follow the rules...Now he pays his dues. I am ALL FOR IT ! Keep his ass in jail .. One less we have to worry about..They gave him his chance for freedom and an alternative to incarceration but he decided he didn't want it. He is where he belongs

I think that the probation personell arent doing their jobs if they was you could not walk up into the probation office with a clean bottle of pee stuck up your couchy and not get caught.or even doing a suprize visit w/a pee test or random visits and searches would wind alot of them up in violation youd be suprised to find out the people who are screwing up that they just dont care about e3ve3n the number of drivers that drink and drive that never gets a dui like sharon alday wrecking her cars drunk as hell w/no dui on record wonder why?
Probation officers get the offender AFTER the police have arrested the person, and the judge and/or jury has either found them guilty or they have pled guilty. If you have a problem with not enough arrests get with the S.O. or P.D. or State Patrol, don't blame the P.O.
Also realize even if a probationer is in violation of his/her probation for dirty urine or another charge like dui the P.O. can only take them before the Judge and make a recommendation. It is up to the Judge to decide if to place them back on probation or sentence jail/detention center/prison time.

Home visits are done. Drug tests are given. What you said is true, I had one hide someone else's clean urine inside her. She got away with it once, the second time she did not. And she went to Claxton Women's Detention Center for the remainder of her probation. Since getting out she, so far has been a changed child.

The system is not perfect. P.O.'s are understaffed and overworked. We all do the best we can with the caseload and time we have.

Frankie, Surely your friend was aware that you were on probation and yet put you at risk. I suggest you not continue to keep company with someone like that. To me that is not a friend. Find friends that will not enable you to go down that road. Sooner or later, you will be back to square one if you keep company with bad company. People are willing to help you, if you put forth an effort. Good luck

Are you serious? Well, why don't they just close all the jails and let these thugs run loose. You are one dumba$$.By the way, when you are on probation and get arrested for violating probation you don't get a bond. Stupid is, is stupid does.
