The soccer fields are not owned by Crestwood soccer further more ask the trustee who is a lawyer about banning kids from parks.zAsk him about federal money and discrimination. Please stop it sbout the lawsuits if kids get hurt everyone will get sued regardless that is how the trustee makes his living. Also put equipment away so it doesn't get damaged. And who do you think paid for all the dugouts and fences around the little league fields the organization's themselves.

What I don't get in this whole thing is why not open the books? Is the Club hiding something? I would hope not. As a parent, I want to see where my money goes and how it is spent. All organizations are subject to an audit, especially non-for-profit ones. If the Club goes somewhere else, my guess, is that they are going to have to pay for use of fields, which in turn may up the cost to play soccer. Why threaten to take our Crestwood kids to another town? Only the kids suffer, they don't understand. You blame the Village Board, why? We voted them in, we wanted change, and the first time they look into the organization and asked questions you get defensive and say we never had to do this before? So you do not want to be accountable to the families in the organization? SHAME ON YOU! You want accountablility at the Village level, why not in the Soccer Club level? Also to the rest of the parents out there in the Club, do not believe everything you hear. There are always 2-sides to every story, so before you get all crazy, get the other side before you jump to conclusions.

Would you go to any business and ask to see their books. If you buy something from BustBuy do you think that gives you the right to see what that corporation does with that money? No you have no right or business seeing best buys books. It's the same thing with a non profit corporation like the soccer program. You have no right or business seeing those books. I'm a soccer parent too and the $75 we pay for registration goes toward uniforms, shorts, socks, pictures and banquet tickets. Fair deal to me. You have NO RIGHTS to SEE ANYTHING!!!

You cannot compare Best Buy to the Soccer Club. Big business has to publish fiancials, they have to answer to the stock holders. They also have to publish and have available these finacial reports. This is especially true for non-for-profit organizations. They have to follow certain rules to maintain their status as non-for-profit. They are also suppose to have a 3rd party come in every so many years to do an independent audit. I too am a parent and as a parent, I DO have a right to see these books. I DO have a right to see monthly finacials. I pay good money just like you and now you tell me I am just suppose to give my money and thats it? It really never occured to me until this all came out and the Club seems to not want to open the books. Why not? Is there something to hide? Is there money spent where it should not have been? As a parent, I trusted that the money is/was spent correctly, but now that there seems to be a big issue with the books and not wanting to open them up to the Village makes me second guess whats going on. We elected these officials, and we wanted change, we wanted to get rid of past practice, and now they ask a few questions we are going to pick up our soccer ball and leave? Poor management and shame on the soccer board if thats the case. Why can't both sides work it out? I sure don't want to take my kids to another town to play because a few on the board are stubborn and are gonig to ruin it for the rest of us. I/we DO have rights to see where are money is going! I hope this can be resolved because the only ones it will hurt are the kids.

I'm a former soccer board member and the club has an independent audit every year, not every so many years like you said. Also if you want to see to financials you can find what is legal for a non profit corporation can show and that info is online. All corporations are the same weather it's best buy or soccer, the only difference is one of them makes a profit off the goods or services that are provided. Best buy sells a laptop for more than they pay for it. Soccer has registration and you pay that fee but there is zero profit made off that registration. All of that money goes toward the uniform, pictures, banquet. Zero profit. You clearly have zero education on the differences between non profit corporations and Corporations. You have ZERO rights to a corporations financials besides the stuff that is available online which you can get from both best buy and Crestwood soccer.

I cannot believe your attitude. We wanted change in the village because of the past boards complacency. Look where that got us. Your comparison to Best Buy is absolutely absurd. If you go in and purchase a television set and leave no you do not have the right to look at their financials. Now if you are a shareholder that is a completely different story. You have a right to look at the books. It is your obligation as a shareholder to look at the books.
That brings me to my next point. When you sign your child up and you pay the $75.00 fee doesnít that make you a shareholder? My children have are now grown and have not played in over 10 years so I am no longer a shareholder but you are. Not only do you have a right to look at the books you have an obligation. Furthermore why is the club so hesitant? Why would they not open their books and show what they monies raised has gone too? Why not show they are complainant and have had an independent qualified 3rd party certify the books. By the boards reaction it is sending a message that something may be amiss. If there is nothing to hide or be afraid of why not just do it to show the village and all the shareholders there is nothing wrong?
My neighbors have children that play in the soccer club. Now there is talk that funds may have be misused on lavish dinners and a seminar in Europe for board members paid for by the club and another other funds used to play for a seminar for board members in Las Vegas when in fact there was no seminar in Las Vegas. Opening the book would squash all these rumors if they are erroneous.
So you sit back and be complacent. Donít get involved. Just assume everything is being run on the up and up. That is what we residents did in Crestwood and look where that has gotten us. I may not have a right to see anything but you do now exercise your rights. And by the way your name calling is very childish and only bullies on the playground act that way. Keep the juvenile name calling where it belongs on the playground.

You are not a shareholder at all! Your completely wrong. There has never been or never will be a convention that the soccer board has gone on. That's a ploy to get stupid people worked up about nothing because that's what our mayor does, tells lies to get his way and than says oh well I just wanted to make sure. You are not a share holder because you paid registration, you are a customer like when you buy a tv. Grow up the IRS handles the books and there's an audit every year. Stop talking because everything you have said is wrong.

The IRS doesn't audit any club unless they see a problem in the filings (red flags) or complaints are brought forward directly to the IRS. At no time does the IRS handle anyones books unless they are doing an audit; the clubs odds of the IRS doing an audit are closer to being hit by lightening on a sunny clear day. When the club leaves Crestwood will they change the name of the club or keep the name Crestwood Soccer Club? Does the village have plans to start a new village soccer club next year?

I have to disagree with you. Maybe the other person used the wrong word shareholder. When you sign your child up you become a member of the soccer club by proxy. You are not a customer you are a member of the club. Remember it is a tax exempt private soccer club. If it were not for the parents joing the soccer club there would be no soccer club. It is no different when people join private clubs such as the Elks, Moose or VFW. Same concept, private tax exempt club. You pay to join and are a member.
Now as for your statement lies I wanted to find out for myself what is the truth. You state the mayor is lying. I found out some information that is rock solid proof he is not lying. For the record I supported Dino Pavoni for mayor.
I went to the village hall and spoke to several people including the mayor. It would appear the lies are coming from Gary Carr and John Toscas.
Here are some facts. The village has the lease and allows the soccer club to use the fields for free. The village has also spent over 12,000 in the last year alone maintain the fields. In addition the village has spent over 1,000 for the paint to stripe the fields and another several thousand dollars repairing the concession stand. These are all facts and official documents can be viewed at any time at the village hall. By the way the village does not pay for any chalk or paint for football, softball or Little League. Trustee JT knows this but keeps eerily silent.
I asked point blank is this a personal vendetta against JT and the soccer club. I was told no. I was alo told this was ordinance was not just brought up. It was first brought up at an official meeting back in 2011. JT once again has this information and remains silent. By the way this can be verified it is in official village minutes it is in black and white. I was also told all the other organizations are in complete agreement with the ordinance and will comply. Only soccer is fighting this. By the way soccer has over 500 children in their club. Only 1/3 of those children are from Crestwood. A lot of Crestwood tax payer money going to an organization where only 33 % of the participants are actually from Crestwood.
Another point is members of the soccer board were throwing children off the soccer fields. The police were called and reports filed. Another fact and yet another piece of information trustee JT remains silent on. Once again these documents can be easily verified. No new paid board is being created. The Recreation Board is already in place and has been in place for several DECADES. A new NON PAID position is being created. He/she will be the director of the recreation board and will oversee the board. The director will offer recommendationís to the village board for approval. Yet another fact that Carr and JT know. JT once again remains silent and Carr keeps posting incorrect facts.
As far as the IRS auditing the books that is in correct. They do not look at books of over any organizations that make less than 200,000 per year or red flags appear.
One last thought. I also found out by law the organizations that use public land have to show their books to the municipality if the municipality requests them. Everything I have posted is the truth. It can be easily proven by just going in and asking to view the documents. Sadly not one person has done this thus far. They spew all kinds of personal opinions on here and Facebook as fact and then call anyone who happens to disagree with them stupid or liars. Please do a little research in the future before posting. Please post the truth. If you are going to refute anything I have just posted please provide your data so I can research so I can check out your facts for myself.
I find it strange if a nonprofit organization has nothing to hide why not open the books and show the village nothing is amiss? It just seems strange to me and it sure does create a reasonable amount of suspicion.

All of you conformists are dumb F'ing lemmings!
Just because someone asks, doesn't mean you have a legal obligation to provide.
Trips? Really? That would be new....factual? Doubt it!
Facts....rights of a Federally incorporated entity supersede a local municipal ordinance.
While this dumb village is wanting to give up their rights, go for it...give the right to decide if you want to pay convicted felons' legal fees, while paying, at the same time, you health care bills. Really makes sense, take your eye off the ball of the bigger, wetter, problem....
Look...something shinny over here People of Crestwood.....
