Does he live in Dolton? I found out that he's suppose to be lying his head down at 500 E. 146th in Dolton. Where his contributions is suppose to be delivered. Based on his campaign information. He doesn't own property at that address. My understanding is that he's only been lying his head there for not more than 10 or 11 months. Check the Housing Dept. in Dolton. His campaign office is in South Holland he contributes no Taxes to our Community but yet he says our taxes are to High. To me it seems he should have his relative, that is at the tax appeals office, as a Commissioner help us. I remember when the last Commissioner we had, Commissioner Shaw he had an Outreach program in place which helped a lot of Dolton Residents repel there taxes. He's talking about CHANGE and CRIME in our Community, I take offense to that. We are No different than any other small town in the USA. We need to work together as a Community and see what President OBAMA is doing to help our town and other towns like ours and Give our New Mayor Ronnie C. Lewis a chance to move our town forward. Our Mayor has been a resident of Dolton for over 30 years, and has served under (3) Mayor's and like myself has seen a lot Positive things happening here in Dolton. I believe that if I was a betting person, I would feel better having someone that has proven their LOVE for our village, than to have Riley come lately wave a magic wand thinking only HE can save our village. This is from a Dolton Resident who Loves our Village just like Our Mayor Ronnie C. Lewis. STAYING IN DOLTON FOR LIFE, Not just taking advantage of an opportunity to wave a WAND!!!

No, he doesn't live in Dolton per say...he doesn't own any property, that is. He's renting....in order to run for Mayor. His campaign office is in South Holland, I just found out. I'm not impressed with what I've seen thus far. His speaking isn't eloquent nor articulate, in my opinion? When I read that quote where he stated there were 18 murders in Dolton last year, to the Sun-Times that utterly turned me off!!!! Why would you put that awful misinformation out there? As if Dolton is some murderous, vile place! Futhermore, if you put that incorrect infomration out there, what do you plan to do? The people committing the crimes generally aren't even from Dolton. Dolton has the same social ills as any other community. So if he wants to do something why don't he increase the man-power for the police department....get state of the art equipment for them, as well as new cars for them, instead of slamming them! They need the same type of resources these other neighboring communities get. Heck any Harvey got a new police station, as well as Riverdale. I personally don't want a former cop...as Mayor! He will obsessed with the police deparment because that has been his entire element his whole life. I need a more rounded mayor! It takes more than the police department to serve/protect an entire community!

As a resident of Dolton for almost 15 years, I'm fed up with the lies of the Shaws and the other crooks that are associated with them. When I moved to Dolton it was vibrant, full of businesses, safe and a great place to raise children. Since Shaw came, the businesses dried up, except for the things he and his cronies preferred, e.g. liquor stores and lounges. There are far too many things to list about lies told to residents for improvements. Shaw tore down the free swimming pool promising to build a new facility for our children to have access to swimming, we got a fitness center dedicated to his family member Melanie. We all know there is no free swimming for children there. Oh let's talk about the theft that took place that prevented the building of the water park at 142nd & Cottage Grove. The water park which was another last minute gag right before the previous mayoral election. The one before that was supposed to turn the Expo into a facility that housed a entertainment theater complex for theatrical plays and concerts. We all know that was a hoax, because the only thing housed in the Expo is a church, which does not bring in revenue. Because it is a church, Dolton does not even receive taxes. Interestingly enough it was the location of the late mayor's home going. Going on to other corruption of the Shaws, what ever happened to the attorney representing the Shaws who was busted for drug dealing in the parking lot of a South Holland motel? I could go on and on, but this I do know the Shaws, Ronnie Lewis and the rest of those crooks have got to go. We the residents of Dolton will not continue to be lied to and live in fear of knowing that none of the police officers in Dolton have any law enforcement experience, which is why crime continues to grow. We as residents know this to be actual, because not so long ago we were informed by local news that our esteemed mayor and police department had handed out deputy marshall badges to convicts. So this is a message to anyone that blogs, I don't care where Riley Rogers lives, I know those crooks Shaw, Lewis and the others have no proof he lives elsewhere or else Rodgers wouldn't be on the ballot. Do know this about the residents of Dolton, we were tired of Shaw as senator and we did something about that. We are mad as hell about what's happening now. The crime, lack of police & fire department staff, made up government jobs like inspector general, foolish spending, schools with no books, businesses that don't pay taxes, liquor stores everywhere and a Dolton Youth Commission with no funding. Shaw was a joke and we're laughing even harder at Lewis lying about being different. We the residents of Dolton want change, we are willing to take a chance on anyone not affiliated with crooks.

Ronnie Lewis supporters speak about the good things he’s done for the community but let’s talk specifics about the problems that keep people moving out of Dolton.
1. Loud music in automobiles and homes. They say it’s against federal law to ticket someone without decibel meters to prove how loud the music was so why don’t they get the meters so they can ticket people and confiscate their cars like other communities. This will bring revenue to the city, instead they choose to do nothing and the good citizen’s just get woke up all night and while they are watching TV they have to turn their TV’s on full blast just to be able to hear them. I should not have to accept load music as part of my everyday life. The truth is if I can hear your music in my house then it’s to damn loud.
2. Filth and trash. We have signs all over Dolton about $500.00 fines for littering yet I see people throw garbage on the ground in front of Police and nothings done about it. They should ticket adults and make the children do neighbor hood clean up if they are caught littering. There is no reason our communities have to look the way they do. This is why people say you can tell when you get to a black neighbor hood by the garbage and trash on the ground.
3. Property upkeep. Does this administration know anything about code enforcement? You can’t let people put swimming pools in their front yards. You can’t let people put garbage cans by their front stairs. You can’t allow people to make a drive way on the side of their house in the grass. You must force property owners that rent to people to take care of the property as if they live their.
4. Ghost Pay Rollers and Government Waste. Hopefully everyone got the mailer that showed all the salaries that Shaw’s family and cronies make. It makes me sick to the stomach. Now we know why we can’t get the streets repaired or more Police Officers or After School activities.
5. Our No Experienced Police Chief. From Security Guard to Dolton’s Police Chief. That says it all.
I could go on forever. If we don’t come out and vote for change by supporting Riley Rodgers we deserve whatever the Bob Shaw puppet Ronnie Lewis gives us.

It is not fair to accuse a man who has served under (3) Mayors is not well equipped to move our village forward. I believe he's his own MAN. The person that said they don't care where he came from should move like he is trying to do. What makes you think he can save our so called "Most Highly Criminal Community" in the South Suburbs. Per Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. It seems to me you must have something in it for you. This Comment sounds like Judy Evans is at it again, Trying to tie Our Mayor Ronnie C. 2 days to go until the democratic primary, and all i've got to go on is,one flyer from ronnie lewis and this blog.I've seen no debates,no door to door contacts, nothing. How is anyone supposed to vote for anyone when the candidates don't even let you know who they are or what they plan to do.I guess neither one of them want to be mayor too badly.Makes you really want to get out and vote.

All you have to do is attend the Village Board meetings to see what The Mayor and the Village Trustees are trying to do every 1st & 3rd Monday. Just like Mr. Riley Rogers he probaly has'nt been to a meeting either. I try to make meetings at least 1st a month and I havent seen anyone but Mr. Lewis at the meetings. I have not seen any of the people running for office trying to unseat our present elected official's. What's up with that!! We need to get involved with our present elected officials they can't do anything without the support of the residents. It seems that since Mayor Shaw is gone to a better place Folks are coming out the wood work without getting involved in the well being of our Community.

For your information Senator Shaw had more VOTES in Dolton it was the surrounding towns in the District that caused him to loss the Senate Seat. Just like now outsiders causing the so called CRIME in our Community. When he was the Senator we had funding. Now the entire USA is short on funding. You are looking at someone from the outside coming in at the wrong time with the Stimulus coming to all the commmunities, then we have an outsider trying to come to our town tring to take credit for the work the present Elected Officials relationships has set-up for our share. STOP IT and Let's start working with what we have in place. The Senator(SHAW) made sure we GOT OUR SHARE everyone that lives in Dolton Knows that to be true. It's the people that comes lately think they can make CHANGE without having a clue!! Show up at a Village Board Meeting. And let's hold our Elected Official accountable not wait until someone from outside try to learn what to do.
VOTE for Ronnie C. Lewis for Mayor!!!

One has to be blind, not to see the filth and paper all over the city.Ronnie Lewis is not the answer. This city government is not doing the job!
Its time for a change, our block has decided to back Ernesto Mickens Jr. Mr. Lewis will be just like Mr. Shaw, we need a change. Mickens has a good record and we believe in him. Mickens has lived in the city for 27 years and made our school board and school district the best in the state. Lets give Dolton a fresh start

I keep hearing and seeing on this blog, that its outsiders who are causing all the crimes and violence in Dolton.Well if thats the case, then there must be something in Dolton thats attracting the criminals to come here.Could it be all the clubs and liquor stores we have here?Or maybe the drug dealers that already live here? Just a thought. And which mayoral candidate has the stones to fix the problem?

If the other candidates running for Mayor and Trustee agree it is time for a change, what are they willing to do to bring about Change?
Most of us agree that Mr.Lewis won't offer any change, but who will?
With all due respect Ms. Wiley is running without a slate. She alone cannot make anough impact to bring a change. Without a slate of her own Ms. Wiley will be out on a limb alone, if elected.
Jason House seems like an ambitious young man, I respect that. He also lacks a Complete Slate of Candidates. He would also be outnumbered by Trustees and Clerks who are not on his ticket.
The only Complete Slate is the "MIckens Slate".
If the other candidates are true Democrates, they will concede and band together with the Mickens Slate to overthrow Ronnie C. Lewis (Shaw).
The common goal is to bring change and rid Dolton of the Shaws. We only have 11 days left to get it right. Lets come together and Make A Change.
The only strong competitors is the Mickens slate.
Mr. Mickens has been an Elected Official for more than 17 years. He has the know how and skills that it will take to undo the years of damage done by the poor administration we know experience.
It will take more than good ideas to get the job done. Vote for the entire Mickens Slate April 7, 2009. Ernesto Mickens #34, Mary J. Brazil - Anderson #40, Alicia Williams #52, Heleodoro Garcia #53, and Jerone ONeal #54.
