I have started a new baseball league ( South Suburban Little League ), in Dolton, I am not a part of Dolton Park District, nor do I have anyone that was part of last years mess. I want some feed back from the towns of Dolton & Riverdale on what you want, I am here for you. I have partnered up with other municipalities ( Harvey, Stegar, Markham, etc) and we will make a very positive differnce with the youth. Baseball camps are also available, I am trying to give back as a strong man, to the youth of today. Giving them another option, a very positive one. Check out our web site at eteamz.com/southsuburbanlittleleague1

Cudos to you. I'm with anything to help our youth stay in a postive circle and to have choices other than the street life. I heard they turned you down. is that true?

Yes, and slammed the door. The park district wants to run everything. I am here for the residents ( as well as the children), not the village. They wanted to control the league, so I took the charter, and started my own league.

How is it you live in Calumet City and want to start something up in Dolton, why not Calumet City?

Here you have someone doing a good thing for Dolton and you question it? How do you know that this person is from Calumet City? You CAN'T go by what city it says in the "name block" because that only tells you where the internet provider is located. It says your location is in Chicago, are you from Chicago? No one knows, but, according to your thinking, you would be from Chicago and have no business posting in Dolton's Forum.
The infrastructure is there to have Baseball in Dolton, but what happened to the Dolton-Riverdale Baseball League?
There are three great locations to play: The Thompsen Field behind the old Tri City Bowl and Thompsen Clinic has concession stands, stands and dugouts. Needle Park off of 142nd ST has the same. Are the batting cages still there? And then, you also have Dolton Park. There are more parks that would be suitable as practice fields.
Good luck in your endevor!

I am a resident of Dolton for 6 Years, and I am in this for the duration. I care alot about the children, and I see alot of potential in the youth today, and I am going to do whatever it takes to get them going in a positive direction. I have been around baseball most of my life.I am 43 years old and I love baseball, it is a passion of mine ( next to racing cars at the track). I listen to what everyone is saying, but I am trying to do something about it. I really would like your support. If you have any questions about me or the league, please go to the leagues web site and either call me or email me I would like to hear from you. This league is very much official. thanks... eteamz.com/southsuburbanlittleleague1

So did you say you lived in Dolton. Your name is? How much it will cost each child? When sign up is. Did you have a little league before? How many years?

Didn't you try clicking on the link in GT's post #10? That website should answer your questions.

Thank you all for your positive feed back, on my trying to bring baseball back to Dolton/Riverdale. I hope to one day be able to bring a tournament here. If anyone is interested in the league go to our web site. We are taking applications for our winter baseball camp right now, it starts January 2,2011. Any questions, I would be happy to hear from you...

I look at the web site and I didn't see anything that shows what you are all about. There are no names or contacts. Where they have played before and how everything went. This does not work for me. Thank you anyway.

It was nice speaking with you this weekend. I think that although some of the questions come off as negative it is only due to problems in the past. Parents need to feel a sense of security in the league. So I for one am offering my time and talents to help get the message out and encourage as many parent s of both communities to take part in our league.

Someone keep me informed on whats forth coming for the league. I heard the park district is taking over, but what exactly does that mean? Will this be a good thing or bad thing? Also, if there is an actual website pertaining to the DRBL, please let me know.
