Winter Statistic

99% OF PEOPLE SAY 'OH SHIT' BEFORE
GOING IN THE DITCH ON A SLIPPERY ROAD.

THE OTHER 1% ARE FROM
BLUE ISLAND..........AND THEY SAY,
'THE STREETS ARE DEPLORABLE AND
BECOME A BIGGER MESS
WHEN EVER IT SNOWS!'

What I don't get it that Calumet Park can plow all their side streets within 24 hours but Blue Island can't??? Something is seriously wrong here... If Calumet Park can figure it out why hasn't Blue Island??

Another snow and another complete failure on snow removal and cars are parked all along snow routes with no tickets or traffic enforcement in sight!!At the time of this posting Alsip is done,Cal Park is done and the Village of Crestwood (which is the home of our superintendant of public works Ken Stachulek) is done!!What is wrong with this picture?????

Except our car got towed on a street without a sign (in front of our house) and they broke the mirror and left it on the hood and tried to blame the police. Nice. $400 later...plus the $500 mirror. What a joke. The city should do their own towing and keep all of the revenue.

Could it be that plowing some streets would make it even more difficult for drivers? I don't know if this is the reason but, on my street, there is no snow route and there are few driveways, so the streets are filled with parked cars. Our street was not plowed right away. Now, if someone had come and plowed the street right away, a lot of cars would be trapped by the embankments of snow created from the plowing. Instead, the snow was left without being plowed right away, and sure there were some minor problems but no one got stuck in the snow. Again, i don't how everyone else's street was but I'm glad they waited to plow my street.

You are an idiot! Your street is not a snow route.I am talking about the streets that are marked snow route. If you are not going to enforce the snow routes take the signs down!

All I know is... if you look at 126th & Honore (Cal Park side) the road is completely plowed and salted. You can see the street... then look at 127th & Honore (Blue Island side) It looks like it just snowed... the plow came by there maybe once and no salt!!! What gives!!!!???? Like I said before.. if Cal Park can do it why can't Blue Island!!?!

How are people supposed to shop Blue Island when the 127th street bridge and the Western Ave bridge sidewalks are dangerous to walk across because the snow has not been removed. If your are an older adult you could break a bone trying to cross!Hell you do not even have to clear both sides just one side would allow the residents to cross safely!

This was brought up at city council last night. The city now has the equipment to deal with this, and has said it will be taken care of in the future.

It seems again the problem lies with the Rubber Stamp Alderman. They gave the job, Superintendent of public works to Mayor Peloquin Brother in law, who does not even reside in Blue Island. You see blood is thicker than water. And the residents suffer. Are you tired of suffering. If you are, vote against all the incumbent Alderman. And put a stop to the corruption.

I observed 1 man (a concerned resident)shovel by himself a walking path from Broadway Ave. over Sacramento Ave. bridge all the way to Vermont St. That is freaking incredible! We need more people like him running this town. Does anybody know who this man is?
