court call march 28.
Blue Island attorneys ask for extension. Motion for jury demand. Blue island defense is they were not notified of sale to msmc investment group. they are useing the law designed by city council. The business, real estate, will notify the city of any sale. Does the city counsel know they are not home rule? That in fact that law has no merit. They just turned metro south into a tax district on feb 14. in a close door setting. This was done after suit was filed. I hope the mayor can enjoy his raise. taxpayers will pay right around 2 million. Which this is good, because the jury will save us 500,000 by ending the case in one day. How if you are the mayor to save a hospital cause more damage than closing it.

Ok Don, what in the heck possessed you to waste money here? Fire your city attorney. Drop the case against what is probably still your 3rd largest employer. Providing fees for attorney's is not the job you were hired to do.

Blue Island hospital picks new CEO

By Kristen Schorsch September 06, 2013

The chief operating officer of a health system in northwest Indiana has been named chief executive of MetroSouth Medical Center in the south suburbs.
Brian Sinotte, 37, replaces Dr. Enrique Beckmann, who recently stepped down, more than a year after the Blue Island hospital was sold to Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems Inc.
At Valparaiso, Ind.-based Porter Health Care System, which includes a 301-bed hospital, Mr. Sinotte oversaw the construction of a replacement facility and led the formation of a clinical affiliation with Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to a news release announcing the hiring.
“Brian's expertise will enhance our commitment to providing patients with quality care,” Brian Dolan, chairman of the MetroSouth board of trustees, said in a news release today announcing Mr. Sinotte's appointment.“We look forward to working with him in his role as CEO.”
Mr. Sinotte, who starts his new job on Sept. 23, has a bachelor's degree from Saint John's University in Collegetown, Minn., and two master's degrees, including a MBA, from the University of Minnesota.
MetroSouth had $157.4 million in combined inpatient and outpatient revenue in 2011, the most recent available, up 2.3 percent from the prior year, according to self-reported data collected by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

case transferred to chancery division of cook courts. the law firm representing msmc is going for a declatoary judgement for clarity on the law. the law they are discussing is whether blue island has right to tell owners of msmc if they could sell there business. let it be known that they did give notice. this judgement is a no jury, decided on the rule of law. The law firm odeleson billed blue island 360,000.Burt odelson has not countinued the case in chancery, and has turned this over to new lawyer. This case will result in a direct judgement aguainest blue island. blue island will appeal. This will be there only defence. judgement will now reach reach six million. there are no reserve funds.

Looks like the law firm and hospital are both doing quite well for themselves, on the backs of the Blue Island taxpayers.

What is the Blue Island City Council doing about this?

Tiff funds for two years. To help keep hosptial from closing. M.S.M.C recieved no payments. Blue island city council approved the Tiff district march 2013. Tiff district was approved after filing of lawsuit. Blue Island defense is. The city was not notified of the sale of msmc to tenn. based healthcare. msmc gave thirty days public notice.Notice given to the city council.Msmc has now moved the case to the chancery divison. A decalatory judgement is being sought. This means msmc wants judge to give clarity to the blue island law. Can the city of blue island tell a business if they can sell? This will almost be immediately apealed by either party. The verdict will be interesting as the city has now aimed itself at the lyric theater using the same law. So, as the case goes down the legal roads of nowhere. The tax payers of blue island will pay the legal fees of Butt Odleson and stupid. Then u will pay for the appeal process. And Let's not leave out pam, donny, vargas, and the new crowd of idiots. The town has no money. a lien of five million doesn't help.
