So, I watched the latest city council meeting on T.V. John Rita is on there saying that they need another new position on the police department. Why? because, they need somebody above the sargent but below the deputy/acting chief ?? you know a go-between from the watch commander and john rita. Doesn't Tom Morey already do that job as administrative sgt.?? Let me see, so the sargeant is not smart enough to be the boss but he is the boss and runs the shift, but if there is a problem, the people have to complain to someone and the administrative sgt. can't do it and acting chief cornell can't be bothered or doesn't know how to do it, and John Rita , well hes not doing it, so my question is, why don't they just fire cornell and rita and make morey the chief? problem solved and you save tons of money. morey can take orders from bobby as well as anybody. why do we need john rita and his little clone cornell ?

John Rita can't see over the front desk to handle a complaint.
Mike Cornell( Corny ) has a hard time getting a key in the door. The rest of the dept is fat and unfit for the job!
They need a size 10 up the ass.

Hardy shoulda strangled that geek corny when he was a recruit. what is this department coming to? oh hell, someone go to t & g's and get me a ham and cheese on pita. Pluuuuuuuuuuumerrrrrr! Where's Plummer? he's smarter than this whole bunch. Somebody call Florida and get Kincaid back. Libby, anyone??? When did our police become candidates for permanent residence in blue cap ? oh, I remember after they hired Kosman who needed two deputy chiefs, and an administrative sgt. and then he eliminated like 80 part-time officers then promoted hoglund and all of his cronies, then hoglund became chief and promoted his bunch, oh hell if you morons want to straighten out that department, I'll come back! Then you will know the real meaning of ghost payrolling! wheres my T & G's ???

Blue Island is at risk with all of the untrained unqualified flip floppers flopping around unwilling and unable to recognize their own strengths and weaknesses. Huge lawsuits waiting to happen.

are you referring to the guy in the shorts and flip-flops who supposedly runs the police department and his mini-me ? They need to go. I think the only 2 people currently employed by the city that have the brain cells and the common sense enough to run the police department are Werniak and J.Schultz, neither of which would accept the job anyway, due to political interference from city hall. Good luck with the 2 puppets in there now. I don't see a need for another NEW position on the police department, Hardy ran the place fine without a commander or a functioning chief, it sounds like another political chess move by the city.

One issue after another. Why?
Perhaps policies and procedures are not being properly followed.
Credentials anyone.

Credentials mean nothing. We need someone with proven experience. We need someone who has led and will lead by example, and who is not afraid to tell city hall to stay out of the day to day running of the police department. As long as a civilian, any civilian, be it an alderman or mayor or city attorney or state rep. controls the chief, we have in-effect, a civilian with no police training running the p.d. If we had an election, like we do for sheriff,we could get a chief that the PEOPLE elect, then maybe the chief would have more freedom to run things in a proper way, but as long as the chief owes his job to the politicians next door and can be removed at a whim, for not doing as the political machine wishes, we have peons, tokens, and the people get stuck with whoever city hall feels like appointing. An election would force the candidates to campaign and disclose their qualifications and track record, experience or lack thereof and EVERYBODY would be able to see exactly what kind of chief we are getting, and he/she wouldn't have to kiss the butts of city hall for fear of being removed. It is not the ideal way but it's better than some closed door city hall decision on who THEY feel will tow the political line and overlook their many indiscretions yet target their enemies. Chicago did a nationwide search, B.I. just looks to the end of the bar to see who is brown-nosing the best.

Like the Peloquineers before them; the BIIPS fail to think for themselves; they rubber stamp vote defend and support failure because they owe their positions to the party boss.

Apparently the new commander can't take what he dishes out. Someone posted some interesting things of the past, and now the entire thread has been removed. The thread about why BIPD needs a chief.

Yes, It was about 10-12 years ago,Kevin Sisk was a new full time Blue Island cop.
Check with Crestwood P.D. there sstill may be a report on the incident that took place at the Southwest Ice Arena bar ( old Coco mo's).
Sisk and another cop were out drinking and a Hispanic male allegedly touched the ass of Kevin's girlfriend/wife. A fight ensued Crestwood P.D.responded and an arrest was made, Sisk punched the offender while handcuffed and in Crestwood's custody.
Sisk followed them to the Crestwood P.D. where he signed a misdemeanor complaint form with a bogus name with intention of going to court.
this was all covered up by both departments. Kevin has been a rising star since then. but Know that he is a dirty cop and a piece of shit.
