You Doltonites are not so smart and so not is your memories of past events. Mayor Shaw created a SISTER CITIES PROGRAM with Ghana or Nigeria years ago. Mayor Shaw became ill 2005 and was not able to make the trip and sent Tr. Lewis in his stead. Low and behold Mayor Shaw did not know they would make anyone a King. So quit your bickering about anything to do with trips to Ghana, I think it is suffice to give money to the Sister Citie Program we are in. You all should be screaming about the bike trail that is costing us over $100K. Who rides a bike anymore? Many towns do and have Sister Cities programs like this so go do some home work before you start complaining. Nate you just mad because you can't get the D J jobs at the Dorchester an more. You were there with the wrong bunch years ago and was taking money undeserving of you, so good riddance to you too. The Stubbs group would have brought you back to do more unfriend deeds to Dolton community. Go elsewhere we had enough of your kind of business.

Look like you are a fan of Mayor Lewis. I think you take care of the town that here. If the Mayor want to give his money away more power too him but not the money that could help the village of Dolton.

No I did not say I was a fan of Mayor Lewis, I just spoke of the program that the village embarked upon. We should be all about helping others, worldwide. I don't see giving them a donation to help the children with books a problem. I just wish our children here were so eager to read. ANd don't shoot the messenger - that is the way it is.

Um, yeah, I'm well aware of the Sister City Program that was started by Mayor Shaw!! Ronnie Lewis took that as an opportunity to flee Dolton as an excuse! The Ghana program is the ONLY thing that Mayor Shaw started that Lewis kept going! Oh, my mistake, he did the Cancer Walk, but renamed it as the MAYOR RONNIE LEWIS CANCER WALK to take credit. Believe me, I know my Dolton history! I didn't just move here last week!

How in the heck can Dolton support Ghana when it looks like a war zone, itself? Given the history of corruption in the Village Hall, after the late 80s, the newbies just helped themselves. Village Hall actually turned into a secret playground. Not the type your kids would play in.

How would I know? Grapevine(s).

Dolton residents should contact the FEDS for an outside audit. They pay to play.

I've read John's posts on here. Looks like you haven't. Then again people like to be mad and complain while having no idea what they're talking about. The man just told you the program originated under Mayor Shaw. If he's wrong, tell him he's wrong and tell him what actually happened...otherwise what are you talking about? There is a thing called a refute which means that you prove what he said is wrong. If you can't do that...then he may be right and if he may be right don't waste your time switching the subject because you don't like what he said.

It does not sound like you know your history."The Ghana program is the ONLY thing that Mayor Shaw started that Lewis kept going!" Lewis' favorite phrase besides "we're doing the best we can" was saying "that wasn't started by me". I've heard that out of his mouth more times than I care to remember but just to show you you're talking out the side of your behind...the very last board meeting there was a conflict about an ordinance that Mayor Shaw amended back in 1999. The board voted to rescind the amendment. Rogers said directly to Lewis, plain and clear, that he never rescinded the ordinance for the entire term he served in office. That is only the last meeting and already contradicting your point that Lewis didn't continue what Shaw started. Wrong!!!

My goodness, did anyone go to school for grammar, sentence context, punctuation and the like. I think I can get the gist of what everyone is saying but the verb tense, dangling participles, incomplete sentences and the like just hurt my head. The issues sound serious but why hasn't anyone done a thing about it if there is so much corruption? People say the police are corrupt, village hall is corrupt and Dolton is a joke. If true, report it so the officials can clear it out and clean it out. For what it's worth, all politics is dirty. The smaller towns seem to get away with it because they count on the village's residents being complacent. Dolton used to be THE CITY 30 years ago. Now, with white flight and Section 8, it is just shameful.

Really, this what we call in the real world, "washing money". but low and behold who is that I see......the FBI, all over the village and mayor and trustees.Lets see if the police chief and his little buddy can escape this one. Maybe the former trustee who is lustfully involved with little buddy can help?........NOPE........ don't think so. Bye Bye
