Riverside planning in Blue Island

Spend an hour on November 19 with APA, learning how Blue Island, Illinois, an inner-ring Chicago suburb, has come to appreciate the Cal-Sag Channel as a valuable community asset. Jason Berry, from the City of Blue Island, and Abby Crisostomo, from the Metropolitan Planning Council, will shed light on a number of the town’s water-oriented planning activities.

This free Tuesdays at APA lecture and discussion begins at 5:30 p.m. in APA’s Chicago office. Reservations are requested.
Nice try

Shouldn't the Building Commissioner be spending more time procuring the safety of our buildings and their surrounding properties, studying blue prints, enforcing the 2012 codes etc... Oh that's right we like fluffy little projects instead of the really important ones. Does anyone up there know what their job description?

That's because we have a Building Commissioner who has NO building or construction experience. Mr. Berry thinks a 2 x 4 is a breakfast item at Denny's.

Shouldn't the Building Commissioner be writing up a certain Supervisor for harassing, threatening and writing up employees unjustly?

What's this? Mario has been re appointed from building code inspector to custodian of the P.D. & city hall. Well why is that?
Mario still makes supervisor salary & continues to take home a city vehicle while inspectors cannot. Mayor Vargas this looks to be pure favor for a close buddy .The city let go good qualified people and now a guy placed in a position he clearly did not belong and given a tall salary is a high paid janitor WOW!!!!!

The head of the Building Department along with JR should not allow a maintenance man to have his own city vehicle or collect an exorbitant salary when so many have lost their jobs. This can be proven as favoritism.

If so, then our so called cost cutting administrators need to cut someone's salary to match their skills set. Because, it will be brought up in the next election losers.

The authorities must visit Blue Island; pull files, gather information to learn the truth related to spending, transactions, and activities across all elected offices including city hall, school boards, Bremen, Calumet, and Worth township elected officials.
