Why don't we here about an arrest of the person or persons. How about how many were shot that day.

Because the media isn't interested in apprehended subjects just the crime. Unless, it's a profiled case. In regards to how many shot that day...it was one person shot at the gas station incident. Contrary to popular belief. There aren't shootings/murders every day in Dolton. We have more than our share of crime, due to the ongoing changing environment with all these Section 8'rs. However, Dolton isn't Iraq!

I move to Dolton several years ago. I thought that I could retire and live a long happy life. We had Bakers Square, Red Lobster and many well known establishments. It is with regret to say that those well known establishments have been replaced with night clubs and liquor stores. I have two children that attend private school because the hell if I'll send my childern to school with other childern that parents don't give a damn. The only reason I'll still in Dolton is because this is home. If Dolton keeps going down hill my house will longer be a home but a place to stay until someone else buys it from me and I can move the hell away.

I was at the village meeting on Monday June 7,10. The Mayor claimed they arrested so people for the thing happen out here. I don't think so because if so it would be on the news. It was so funny trustees act if nothing is happening here. You would think they would be outraged.

YOU JUST LIE. Don't lie on the blog those places have been gone over 8 years, several years means 3 or 4. Yes it is sad for the children here in schools. Hopefully the kids are not as bad as the one's committing the crimes although they may see some of this bad behavior at home. I would like to sell my home too, been here over 20 years and yes i see the change. It was a good 20 years and the last 3 have been terribly bad. Dolton Cops wake up I know you see this while you drive around the streets, DO SOMETHING. I will call you if I see something, but don't just talk to them and then drive away. Take the thugs with you.

I totally agree, Dolton use to be a nice and quiet little town. I bought here 16 years ago and has had enough. Why is it on almost every corner you have a liquor store, and 2 to many clubs out here. I don't know which gas station this shooting occured, but right there on 146th & Indiana that HB gas station has bullet holes in their window, wasn't there Sat.

1st off I never stated the shooting happened in Dolton...I said Hb on 146th and Indiana, and secondly if Dolton has some crimes commited they should just call on Dolton police... The point was a shooting occured whether it was Dolton - Riverdale it happened...So ur saying if Dolton has a crime spree going on...we should only complain to Dolton and not ask for help from Riverdale or any other.

There was another shooting after the fireworks last night. The young man got shot in the leg on Sanderson right off Greenwood. That didn't get into the new papers.

Duh, go across one of two streets, either 146th ST or Indiana AVE, and guess what? Your in Dolton!!! This is right outside of Doltons back door and if you live on or just of of Edbrook (and/or around that area) your azz ought to be conerned! Riverdale and Dolton Police use to work together as crime crosses over from their community into our areas and visa versa, especially along Indiana Ave as well as 146th ST. If a unit Dolton PD was closer to that gas station, why couldn't they answer the call as well as why can;t a Riverdale PD unit answer calls in the west side of Dolton if their closer?

Yes, I live just a few doors from the shooting on Avalon-- heard the shots and screaming, saw the car pull away etc. I called WBBM news immediately hoping to get some coverage. Also emailed the TV stations. So far it hasn't been reported on.
If we could get more press and media exposure, maybe, just maybe our mayor and police would realize they need to do something-- our Mayor does not like bad press. It also does no good to complain at Village Board meetings unless you go as a group; they won't listen to individuals-- they'll just blow you off (I know because they blew me off once).

We have to keep getting the word out. Thing that are cover up never get anything solved. It sad we the people have to live like this. All the young people hanging on the street corners. No one come and make them go home. If we need money in the town fine the parents. They will watch there children more when it hits the purse or $$$$$$. Then it will stop if not it will keep going on .
