Does anyone know why the new Consignment store in Tiffany Plaza closed already? Did they sell all the items or just take them and run?

I didn't realize they did. That was quick if they did close, though I never understood how stores like that make enough money to be profitable if they mostly deal in clothes.

It wasn't only clothes. They had a wide variety of things in there. There was a dispute with the landlord and they've moved on.

I said "mostly" deal in clothes as most consignment shops seem to have more clothes than anything else.

I totally get the dispute with the landlord though. I've heard all bad things about the landlord of the plaza.

I understand. I never got in there so I only had the pictures I saw to go by. Either way it's very unfortunate. I hope they were able to find another location and not lose all their startup costs.

the land lord dave was charging way to much for rent and would not work with the renter so he had to close

That's a shame that they couldn't last more than a month. What's worse is that the Landlord is so greedy that he won't work with people to fill up his stores. At least when Corsi's owned the Plaza, they worked with the Renters.

They knew the rent when they went into it , everybody wants a handout.You can't pay your rent you can't have a business simple.

Sometimes working with your tenant is better than them just leaving...how much rent is Dave collecting from the empty space??

Dave has a great record. Of pissing off tenants. Have another drink at Sullivans, Dave, then go screaming at your tenants. What a great way to build your reputation.

I would think he could/should have worked out what they could/could not afford before they signed a lease, but as Dutch Oven Chef pointed out, he's getting nothing now.

And, there are incentives in place like tax breaks for them to offer discounted and in some cases a few months free rent.

The offices there are crap. I have heard, many times, that his Tenants are expected to pay for maintaining the a/c and furnace for their own unit. So if the 20 year old a/c goes out in your leased office, YOU have to pay to have it repaired or replaced. Then, when you leave his deadbeat complex, he gets to keep the new unit, and you get screwed. Great deal, huh? He is a cancer on the town.

If this is true someone should call the Patch , so they can investigate this fraud .

What kind of incentives do you give to your wondering friend? Or did you make it as to where he is now wandering?Spooners delight.

He's running a business too he has bills too , again if you cant afford the rent then owning a business in this particular place is not for you.Enough with handouts .
