Zuc rep is alot better then Shaw plus Roger has way more experience in politic then Stubbs. Truthfully i not voting for Rogers but i will not let lies be said bout a person. This is what someone that leaves and care about Dolton do. I been leaving in Dolton for over 25yr, TRHS mean thornridge and 1995 is the year i grad so don't tell me about Dolton because i know more about Dolton probably any of these candiates plus you.

you can't hate gym shoe, the poeple has spoken and in a big way. I was not for Roger also but for now we have to see what he's going to do. Stubbs wasn't even close she had like 781 votes to his 1,537 votes. My hat goes off to Avant, Crayton and Belacher for running a good race without slamming others

So glad that this Mayoral Race is finally over. Now we shall see what God has planned for our community. Prayerfully we will have more people in the community to come to the board meeting and get involved to help the new administration do the job the people elected them to do.
As a people stop sitting back pointing fingers and bad mouth every little thing. If you are not apart of the solution then you are part of the problem.
Get involved and make a real difference. Help our children who have no structure and role models. GET INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY. LETS WORK WITH THE NEW ADMINISTRATION TO RESTORE DOLTON AND BRING OUR COMMUNITY TO THE STANDARDS OF SOUTH HOLLAND COMMUNITY. THEY HAVE VERY FEW CRIMES AND FEW BOARDED BUILDINGS IF ANY, GROWING BUSINESS. HELP BUILD OUR DOWNTOWN AREA AND OUR PARKS AND PLAYGROUND. LET'S DO IT TOGETHER.

Congrats Congrats the community has spoken, so let the new officials get to work. I ask that no one expect miracles, the village is in better but still in bad shape. We will have 6 trustees with no experience, Rogers, Bendell, Smith have been on Board two years but you can tell from t v program they are not trained well. And now Rogers is the Mayor with not much experience to help him. But
IF IF they all get together and work for the cause the village may survive. You all talk about all the jobs Rogers promised, I say more power to him IF the people are capable of handling the job. We need people willing to work, that will work; and learn how to do the work. All the folks there who did not do public service get it together and do the people business. We siad that we would wipe the board clean and the citizens did that. Now give the new guy a chance it will take 6 months to find out what Lewis left us with so maybe by Christmas we will have a nice gift of a good Mayor and Board of Trustees. Mayor Lewis, Tr. Harris, Tr. Jefferson go home its time for a change you have changed Dolton enough.

What ever he told you won't happen. Yea sure....
I already see the new Police Chief, a printed newletter for residents that talks about more than "the mayor's projects/programs", media mentioning Dolton in a positive light (that we are investigating the Dorchester's misspending), the sheriff's police helping DPD patrol, and the mayor addressing the issue of employees stealing village fuel..not to mention warning residents to be prepared for village sticker, parking, and code enforcement tickets to be issued. I voted for him and I didn't expect this much in LESS THAN 20 DAYS.

yeah i didn't think he'll be spend the village money hiring friend with less experience and high salary without seeing the budget. And why is it that the account never have the budget at every Dolton meeting or even a break down, this is something Mayor Roger used to complain about when he was a trustee but isn't since he's Mayor.(Do you think the Mayor is trying to hide Salary and cost from the Trustee?

He retired from CPD after 28 years. He was the commander in a district over east which is easily equivalent to being a chief in a small town because the department may have about 40 cops overall but one shift in a CPD district might have the same amount of cops on the street. Now what makes him inexperienced again? I keep trying to tell people on here that salary and reputation wise Dolton is not a competitive employer meaning the best of the best will either leave quickly or not take a job here. All you need to do is google and you will answer a lot of your own questions. Here is your new police chief's info:

John Franklin's Experience
Adjunct Professor City Colleges of Chicago Educational Institution
January 2011 Present (2 years 5 months) Daley College/Criminal Justice

I teach a variety of law enforcement related topics, such as Police management, Security management, History of Prisons in America, the Juvenile Justice System, and Ethics.

Retired Commander Chicago Police Dept.
October 2006 October 2008 (2 years 1 month) 003rd District/Special Functions Section

Northwestern University certificate, Staff & Command, Center for Public Safety
2010 2010

Lewis University Masters, Criminal/Social Justice
2000 2002

Northeastern Illinois University Bachelors, Speech/Media Communications

Now compare that to Ronnie Burg or Fox...yeah you have to pay more when you ask for more.

What is the deal with you people? When I got here, there was an all black board. There was nothing impressive about how this village was being run. In fact, every person that sat on that board that ran for reelection was denied that chance by the residents. There are two white women on the board now. I voted for both of them. If you all judge a person's competency to govern this village by their race, you're a coon and no different from the people that you call prejudiced and bigots. If the best candidate is an Indian American with a thick accent, I'll vote for him/her before I just vote for someone because they're black. That's a dumb reason to vote for someone.

Everybody talks about change is going to happen. I dont see much of change going on! I myself am a ex dolton police officer. I was fired for budget cuts! At least thats the b.s I was told. The funny thing is I was part time and was a rookie. Dolton also fired 6 more new part time police officers. You can not run a small police department like its chicago it wont work. So people tell me how are your tax dollars really being spent? Taxpayers just payed over 15, 000 dollars for the 6 new police officers. 300 dollars for each uniform that wasnt put to good use. The village got on t.v and looked like a ass saying the village is broke. But they just hired a new duputy chief and new clerks who are the mayors people. When he says he wants no one he knows working for the village. The mayor asked sheriff tom dart for extra patrol and he promised the people of dolton for more police and safe streets. So tell me how is that going to happen. You dont fire firemen and police unless its for better reasons. Soon the residents of dolton will really find out whats really going on. This is just a small issue but there plenty more I dont need to explain that

The "police officers" that we're fired we're in the part time academy and were hired under the previous chief/patrol commander. I heard there were some issues with background checks being incomplete and one that should of never been hired as the police in the first place
