A few years back we stopped in Dogleville and met a woman who gave us a tour of the Dolgeville Mill. We used to stop by the Mill when it was an antique center and go to that vintage restaurant Katie's. She said condos were going to be built there. It looked really cool. We don't get up your way anymore but wondered if the condos were ever built and how much they sold for. Is Katie's still open?
Thanks for the update.

The Dolgeville Mill Antique Shop is closed down now, there is nothing there. And Katie's is now a pizza place. It's too bad that they are both gone.

That is sad that Katie's is gone. It was a cool retro place. The owner, I think his name is Lee, was really nice. Too bad the mill is closed too. Those condos would have been nice. I think.they would have appealed more to downstaters than local residents.

Thanks for answering my post.

Supposedly the Mill is being made into high end condos now. I saw the early work on the first one, very nice. He kept a lot of the old architecture blended in with the new. It had concrete counter tops, brick walls, etc. I'm afraid there won't be much of a market for them up here though. The prices are kind of high for this area. I believe they're supposed to be 'no kids' which makes me want to buy one. :)

The Grant money paid for the new sidewalks all along Main Street. The upkeep is up to our illustrious DPW. Too bad they don't know that by allowing weeds to grow in between the pavers, eventually it'll ruin them. Not to mention it looks like a garden gone to seed.

dolgeville dpw is a joke. they apply their work according to the street. if you live on a slum street-- baker - they don't even pick up the leaves. i have seen blind men do a better job. they seem to have an attitude problem. a bad attitude problem. they seem to lack direction and adult leadership.

you can't build condo's without a building permit.would you live in a condo with no electrical inspection?how would you get out in case of a fire. the stairs are very far away and don't go near an exit. and when you get to the front door you better have your iceskates because the sidewalk has 4" of ice on it. riches man in town can't even clean the f*&%king sidewalk. but the electric plant is up and running, not registerd, or being taxed like the other electric plants.

Thank you Charlie and Jan for coming into our town as an outsider and putting up your own money (hundreds of thousands if not millions) and fixing up the old Daniel Green factory buildings and mansion. They are an integral part of the village's heritage and are on the national historical registry. NOBODY in town could afford to do what you did or desired to so I applaud you.
