The village has no input or control over the building. It doesn't belong to the village. Go to Newport and Stratford to see how this trend continues. The Middleville school is the only one that has been sold and somewhat rehabilitated to house a bible college. The Corrigans sold the building 3 or so years ago to some guys from Long Island. This crew started removing the asbestos but were shut down because the workers were not certified to remove the asbestos. The Corrigans carried the mortgage when sold. Because the Long Island investors defaulted on the loan and paid no taxes, the property was put up for auction. Guess who won the bid - yup, the Corrigans. There were no other bidders for the property. The Corrigans don't give a monkey's patoot about how any of their properties look, including the Lake House. It's a real shame.let me spell it out for you moron.
the corrigan's or you, whoever you are, are not gonna pay for the asbestos abatement or removal because 1.you likely can't afford to have it done, along with the cost to rehabilitate the building and 2. if you could afford to do it, you know that you never in a million years would be able to recoup what you put into it, right?
so, NO asbestos removal-NO useful purpose for this building.
so then YOU are the ones that are stuck aren't you?
stuck with the liability of ownership and
stuck paying taxes on a heap of trash eyesore that has YOUR name on it.
