Outdoors: Meat processors to help venison donation program WSJ

The real value in this program is that it encourages hunters to shoot more deer (there are WAY too many deer). Even at a cost, hunters are more likely to shoot more deer if they know the deer will be consumed for food and not "wasted". The value of the meat, however, is questionnable in that, given the overall costs of this program, the money could be used to buy grade a lean ground round considerably cheaper than the same amount of money used to fund a venison food pantry program
