Brak-Hard gave us a nice written contract that explained what they would do, how they would do it and what it would cost. The surprise was that they showed up on the date promised, did the work and only billed me after they were satisfied I was happy. They also had all the permits filed with the City so that we had no problems. I give them a A+++.

lowell Brakey is perhaps one of the most honest, organised, community minded men I know. Would that all of our citizens could be so magnanamus and forthright. Lowell needs to be on city or county commission. Truly a man of honor.

Few of us,I think, really give thought to the task our teachers have before them. They are accountable for making sure our children learn to read, write, and compute, all while dealing with so many social issues, such as psychological diagnosis, disfuntional family issues, diverse cultural issues, abhorant behavior issues at school {bullying, intimidation, lack of respect for teachers, and so on. And what disciplinary action is permitted? We all would do well to consider how would we function in this environment, or could we? we pay a shop 60 or 70$ an hour to fix our car. How much do we pay the teachers to frame the minds of our children. I believe we should demand a good job and performance from our teacher but we in turn should make sure that they have the respect and support they deserve.

Nice post Ron, but...

Just how much respect and support does their own administration give them when they are paid like kings and the teachers are actually the "feet on the ground" so to speak.

Taking the two cities closest to us (in size and immigrant population) Dodge has a 60% higher mill levy, and 200% higher portion of vehicle taxes going to the schools.

Yep, we need more funding for schools....

Tee: I totally agreee with you. My comment was regarding "teachers", the people who face the social difficulties of the poor and disfunctional familes, difficulties with immigrant issues---the list goes on and on. I'm glad that someone is watching--thank you for caring.

I am addressing this comment to everyone who supported me in my bid to serve on the Ford County Commission. Last Thursday I left a copy of a " thank you" ad at the Dodge City Daily Globe office and was assurred that it would run on Saturday. I had to go out of town over the weekend. I arrived home this evening.[monday] In searching through Friday, Saturday and Monday's papers I discovered that there was no 'ad' as promised. I apologize for the missing ad.

Re: Great job done by Brak-Hard

Thank you to your crew who did an excellent repair of our sidewalk and home at 2806 6th Ave. in Dodge! Not only was it completed in a timely manner, but the men worked so well together. As an older retired couple, we enjoyed watching them and would certainly recommend your workers to anyone needing to know the quality of their work!!! Thanks to all.
