I was wondering what folks who live outside of Providence Ky think about our town? Any comments?

Providence is a ghost town in the making. Some of the people are nice...but, as with all small towns, the gossip is ridiculous. People are so quick to judge someone by hearsay, then they've the nerve to walk in church Sunday morning like they're truly children of God. Give me a break.
Should not that be a crime in itself? Having the nerve to judge someone while wearing a halo?
By the way, I love Subway.

I was born and raised in Providence and now live in Kansas.I know Providence has changed alot in the last few years,but it will always be home.Sure it has all the marks of a small town,but I live in a city now and believe me,I'll take small town USA anytime.I didn't realize people could be so rude until I moved here.

Providence has changed a lot in the past few years. Too bad its been for the worst and not for the better.

I've lived in Webster county my whole life, just a stones throw away from Providence. 10 years ago the town use to be a decent place to call home. But now the town has resorted to hiring dirty cops and dirt town leaders.
Cops are hired without extensive background checks, leading to a troublesome breed of law enforcement

I know that in the past 40 years Providence population has probably dropped 60%. Another 40 years with the same rate of decline and all will be left is a ghost town. I guess someone will eventually sell the "PROVIDENCE" arch for junk iron.

i wish i could leave providence crooked town crooked churches especially the one i recently attended new covenant that guy is something else money hungry give me give me i probably wont go back ill find another church but the church fits well in the town

I think the arch was stolen and sold for scrap months ago to scrape up money to buy meth. And by the way I think we should quit wasting funds on minor infractions of the law until we can get a handle on this meth problem. Catch a thief and you have caught a meth user.

Hey folks, newsflash, if you hate Ptown so much go somewhere else. No one is keeping you here, except for maybe the projects. Leave, go to Madisonville, Clay, Dixon, Sebree, Slaughters, ETC.... Providence is a pretty good place to live. Some of you folks could find something wrong with the pearly gates and the streets of gold. I'll bet they're not shiny enough!

I've lived in Providence my whole life and I mind my own business and everything seems to flow just fine for me. You should try that. HENDERSON,KY why don't you move to Madisonville I'm sure no one will miss you.

It's like they think the place will cease to exist if they leave!!! Hey guys, PLEASE pack up your cars (if you have one) and leave. We would be happy to see your exhaust as you exit the city limits. Believe me, no one will have a problem with it. But when you leave be sure and leave an unpaid utility bill, we wouldn't want you to break an old family tradition.

Huh? Was that supposed to make any sense whatsoever? If so, repeat what you just said so that we may understand. Do you mean that Providence is a bunch of ignorant inbreds? Are you even familiar with Providence or just jabbering away on the computer?

Providence is just another dead coal mining town. Except now you have to pay for the money they stole. I'm glad I left and wish the rest of my family could. There are very few good paying jobs there, so if you live there you have to pay for the gas to get to one.

Obviously you are a little in the dark Ms Love. Coal mining is a BOOMING business right now. If you are willing to actually work, there are people being hired for extremely good paying jobs left and right. But, I'm proud you did "get out" if that is how you feel about Providence. Hopefully where you live is a booming metropolis with a job on every corner. Good for you if it is.
