I live At Green acres Mobile Home Park in Dixon IL. If anyone was thinking about moving out here DON"T.This is a very nasty place to live. The owner doesn't care about this place. The office manager doesn't do anything around here.My Landlord is not fixing anything in this trailer. I rent from him. the water is terrible out hear.Theres a drug dealer out here and no one cares. And they have two boys. Before I moved out here I fell and I am thinking about suing the landlord for my injuries. There are alot of junky and junky trailers out hear.Nothing like waking up and smelling a dumpster..mmmmm.That lovely it goes with that nice cup of coffee. My point is people who own these places should care about there properties.Theres a couple out here for sale sorry they won't sell.Yucky who would want to do that. Our landlord has lost a couple of renters because he won't fix stuff. He's horse ass.

I agree! The ownership of properties is completely in the "slum" areas of fix and repair. The landlords, only care about making money. Instead of an investment, they choose to only get rent. While there are dangerous repairs that do need the proper attention. Therefore, complaints should never be over-looked. The lack or care, concern, pride in ownership has not only failed our communities. But, also has let the living areas go to "crap"! As for the injury, seek advice. All those people who think, they have the answers. Not a soul has came forward and show any concerns. How sad, for communities to not show care of their surrounding areas. This is why people are moving out of areas.

The trust of others to make changes and make lives better, truly does not seem to be a concern for those whom have control around you. Guess, their coffee cups are completely empty!

If the landlord won't fix up his place that you live in, take pictures of the place and take him to court, because he didn't fulfill is end of the rental contract. Contact the health department and make plans on moving out of the area.

Contact the health department and make plans on moving out of the area. This has been done-health dept.what a complete joke I must say! Pictures, complaints, do nothing to get anything done. Why pay any court cost, if the owner/landlord is a "slumlord"? What a complete waste of time and concerns. Even for those whom have children. They do not care-and will not care-no respect-no concerns. Just MONEY for their "junk" places. Most should be commended in my eyes! Great attention is needed in this are!

I have made a lot of complaints and nothing was done.Do you have money to take them to court. Then you do it.I live on SSI I don't have that kind of money to take anyone to court. The state of IL is trying to pass a law that landlords have to get there apartment building inspected yearly and alot of landlords don't want that to pass it would be good for the sumlords of this state.Try going to CO.that state its a law there. Now do you have anything other bite ideas left?

This is called a serious slacker! Very unprofessional, for those whom feel they are above all. City wide and county wide!

I totally agree with everyone. I live in Oregon, IL and my landlord is a complete joke. For instance we had a crack in our bathtub because there is no support under it and he came and fixed it but now i have a big black nasty looking spot in the middle of my bathtub. And then I went at least 2 months without a handle on my sink because my slumlord was to lazy to come fix he finally came but now i have two unmatching handles on my kitchen sink. Then everytime it rains my apartment gets flooded because there is a crack somewhere in the foundation and he won't come fix it. It royally sucks because me and my husband can't afford to move right now so we have to put up with it.

If the foundation is cracked, report it to someone of whom will get something done in Oregon!Make complaints, it will get someone's attention! The owner/slumlord can also get a small loan very cheap to fix and repair. The damages can be sealed. That is if he knows how or someone to do the work! When making complaints-follow up and "BUG" them daily!! Take pictures, save them, send them by email to those who need to know about any complaints. If it comes down to this part-put something in the local paper. This will get attention by others of concerns. Don't be afraid to do this- this is your right! Freedom of speech! That is if they care about their community at all. Best of luck to you both!

It royally sucks because me and my husband can't afford to move right now so we have to put up with it. Demand answers to all your problems and concerns! If the owner shows he/she does not care then they should not have properties. Soon, as in past reading they want to come out with ALL property owners whom owner places to rent- to pass inspections of living conditions. This is something that needs to become law so none of us will have to deal with the so called slumlords. They will be ousted! They will no longer be able to rent unless they pass all inspections. This is a "Super" idea for everyone! Make your voice heard-speak to only those who show concerns. Not all areas of complaints will pay attention. Township, they do not care-find someone in a higher office to listen to you.

I have confronted him about the problems and he don't do anything about it. Last year when our carpet was soaked because of the crack I told him about it and never heard anything back. Then one day he finally asked me if that area was all dried up yet and I told him yea finally after running fans on it all the time. We have called the health dept. about mold on the walls and they told us there is nothing they can do about it. I am so pissed off about this it's not funny. I can only imagine what his other properties look like and I feel sorry for the people that are living in them.

First, if I may the health dept. is totally wrong! Mold is something that can and will cause health problems. Take pictures. Get an attorney. Take the owner to court. You should not be going through any of this. The living conditions are not safe. Very important you seek legal help! Hope you will except this advice. Take it from someone who has been there! Best of luck to you both! You are important-your health! Owner of property should pay for your suffering!

Contact the health department and make plans on moving out of the area. So did you read the local news for the Dixon area? They want to start doing inspections for all rentals and homes. I think this is something that is a MUST for any rentals! The point for the lady whom has so many rentals is-she is a slumlord, never fix any repairs, even the outside areas look like a complete dump! Most look like they should be condemned! Or torn down! The list could go on for hours of what needs work. Of course she is not the only one whom needs to get off thy butt! The local landlord ass. is a complete waste of time, and why would someone want to support a program that does not help others or their own communities? The local paper here is so late it is not funny in printing this subject. The whole state needs this to happen for ALL rentals and homes-inspection should pass. Will be moving out of state soon! Good luck to everyone whom remains here in this poor state of distress! Good day!:)

Good day!:) There are some apartment's that are between 6th ave and 7th ave in Sterling that need to closed down owner doesn't any thing and she owns another one across the street from county market in Sterling and its bad also. She doesn't fix up her places.I know the one between 6th and 7th ave has roaches. But this lady wants her money.don't she.She is a slumlord. The only reason she is not wanting inspection order to past is because would have to fix up her places at her own cost.

I hope they pass the law where they have to have inspections cuz I'm so ready to have this shit fixed in my apartment. To top everything else off the other day my hot water heater quit working then I started to spell burning wires I opened the door and it was on the verge of starting on fire so I called my husband home from work to see it. Luckily he didn't get electrocuted when he unplugged the wires. I called the landlord he tells me he will be here this morning and I called him at 8am. Well he finally shows up at 315pm. So much for this morning what a joke. LOL Smokingapplies about your comment that you will not be living in the this state much longer I hope we are not either. My husband wants to move so bad but undecided on where to go. Good luck with the move.

At least you would not have to worry about a "Slumlord" to do repairs. Learn to do them on your own. Best of luck to you both!

Too bad others don't see other states as being a "better" living! Of course they all have to do their own searches. And decide where they want to move to. Very much looking forward to moving and getting out of this state! The state of IL. needs so much help it is not even funny! You don't have to read any paper, just look around proof is there. Better to move than to wait for everything to go flip flop! Good day!

99% of the landlords do not care about anything but the rent money. I rented a place once where there were families and the landlord hadnt even told me the place was for sale. So all these people were coming in time time to look. How pathetic
