My parents took me there when I was a little kid. It was a place where they had deer walking all around and you could hand feed them. I could've sworn it was someplace near White Pines state park, but when I looked around there last summer it was nowhere to be found.

Anyone remember this place, or how to get to it?

If you were heading from Polo to Oregon and you pass the entrance to White Pines, the deer park was on the next road to the left where there would be a sign for Lake Ladonna. The deer park was on that road on the left-hand side.

When I was Growing up we went to dear park several times. this would have been in the sixty,s. Would usally go to white Pines state park then would go to deer park. went there with church groups and boy Scouts. I have pictures of that train it also had a wooden swinging bridge. What I want to know is the skating Rink across from white pines still open it had a marble floor. my name is Ed Austin (Eddie) grew up in Rock Falls, Joined the Navy in 1976. Would like to keep up with old friends. [email protected] can also find me on facebook.

The Deer Park is now fir sale- they went out of business in the 90's. It is located west of Oregon on White Pines Road. It is after the curve but before the State Park on the north side of the road... very forelorn

My dad and two uncles bought that land that the Deer Park was on back in 1959. My brothers and sister and cousins had a wonderful childhood growing up in such a place. It closed in the 70's but re-opened in the 80's for about 8 years or so. The White Pines Deer Park was visited by many from Illinois and visitors from out of state, as well as many local schools.

There is Wisconsin Deer Park, in the Wisconsin Dells area. You can feed, pet, & take photos of the deer & other animals.

Deer park was shameful - at least the one in Oregon. The animals were so unhappy and dirty. It was horrible to see. I'm so glad they shut that place down...

It may have had some down sides but it was a nice place to visit. I had a seasonal trailer at Lake LaDonna (the next property north - past the railroad tracks). I would always stop there and buy fudge. I don't know who made it, but it was about the best I ever found. The train ride was a good one.

I used to go there a lot in the 60's and even 70's. I have an old momento purchased from the gift shop. Do you think it's valuable?

Hey Y'all ... Feer Park is White Pines State Park near Oregon. Isn't that Lee County ? Or maybe Ogle ? It was a happening place in the 1970s, for us teens during the summer. The place is beautiful with the flowing streams, cliffs and forest. I was there last in 1997. My big brother and his wife's (Mr and Mrs Chapman who taught at East Coloma) children put together a family and friends get together for their 60th birthdays there.
