I agree. The whole train station idea is foolish. I've heard the argument that the $25M is free money but it has to come from somewhere where it might be used for a legitimate purpose and we don't have to tear up our roads and put viable businesses at risk. The Chamber of Commerce got their nice office out of this silliness, now it's time for them and the city council to start acting like grownups.

Hang in there Shirley.

Where have all the good times gone? Actually another thought comes to mind along with that lyric from a song. Where has all the common sense gone?

The underpass at A is only one of the two that would be eventually required. The UP will demand that North First Street also have a grade separation instead of the at grade crossing it currently has. That will bring the total to $65 million of "free money". Yet your mayor and the city manager continue to endorse this. Why? Because we have started the process and now can't turn back because we might lose our place in line.

Doing the job right for the entire city, not just for the DDBA, Chamber, and the Rotary club should be the goal of those governing Dixon.

Maybe next election will take care of that. Maybe the mayor's heart condition will take care of it even sooner...

I wonder if Jim actually saw this letter before it was submitted. He told me he doesn't see half of the stuff that has his name on it until it is in the paper.

Jim does not have to see the letter. He trusts his wife. I don't see half of the charges my wife makes but I pay the bill. Are you jealous because Jim has someone who can trust taking care the important business?

Keep up the good work Shirley & Jim!!!

We don't need the grade seperation....
Lets forget about it and move on.

Why not build a combined Vacaville Dixon station out at the Batavia R.R. crossing?

Lol Bob. That wasn't trust I heard in his voice but let's let them resolve their own marital issues. The bigger issue is why is it necessary to put another person's name on the letter? Does the letter have more credibility with another person's name on it? For me any letter that has her name on it instantly loses credibility.

What exactly did you mean by "maybe his heart condition will take care of it even sooner"? I'm a little confused.....

Mini, its a very mean spirited reference to the Mayor's recent health issues. Very tacky.

You put another name because that person agrees with you. Your last sentence says it all. You are not an open minded person. You do not look at the issue you shoot the messenger.

What I read in this statement is that "maybe the mayor's health problems will force him to resign" and maybe we can correct out mistake by electing some one with common sense. Nothing mean just the plain fact. If you think this is mean then half of Dixon is mean.

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Pisces

You're capable of making some very constructive and important decisions today, particularly where your relations with certain people are concerned. If you're fed up with the way someone has been treating you, you might now decide that the worm is about to turn and you're going to be much firmer about what you're prepared to put up with and what you won't tolerate.
