Woman dies in crash

A Dixon woman was killed Saturday night in an alcohol-related rollover accident in Dixon, California Highway Patrol officials said Sunday.

"Alcohol related," what does that mean? Does it mean the driver was drunk? Does it mean the passenger was drunk? Does it mean both were drunk? Does it mean one of them had ONE drink? What does it mean?

Just because alcohol was involved doesn't mean drunk driving was the cause of the wreck.

I got up this morning and eliminated. It was alcohol related. I had a glass of wine with dinner last night. Stating "alcohol related" is meaningless.

Well, if you read the "whole" article, it says the driver was arrested on for felony dui. That would mean he was under the influence of alcohol or some other controlled substance. I know, it says alleged, which just means he is not guilty until proven in court.

sadly its usually the driver that survives while the passenger or person in another car is killed. suv's are known for rolling over easily. bad decision to get into the vehicle with someone who drank....a fatal decision.

Interesting. I thought it was the other way around. That the driver is usually killed.

I don't think the 187(a) PC charge will hold up. 23153(a)(b) VC is sufficient to put the responsible party in prison for a while.

The passenger who died was a "she" (bridget Silguero). The driver was GRAUDUSHUS, CATHLEEN ANN. In the article www.sfgate.com it does read "him/he", which is a error. I wish writers can get their facts straight before publishing a story.

That is true, but not in newswriting. AP style is strictly adhered to: If the sex is unknown, the writer would have referred to him as "unknown," "the driver," etc.
In this article, the person named is actually a male or the writer was in error.
