I appreciate all the hard work our pd does. Sometimes I do question their intelligence. They pull vehicles over and block driveways and intersections. Its bad enough that we lose a lane of traffic when someone is being ticketed but to block a residents driveway is ridiculous. I for one have asked if they could pull up so I could get in my driveway. He told me I would have to wait. Doing these things for minor traffic violations is just dumb. Our police department needs to have some consideration for us the people and stop being so power hungry and abusive to the community that feeds their families and pays their bills.

When they pull someone over on 147th they should pull to a side street. Safety issue.

It's usually the person getting pulled over who is the moron, they should know where to go when they get pulled over. Maybe Wondering Why 1 will come to this thread and complain about the Midlothian police some more.

You apparently are not the smartest tool in the shed. How many times in other towns or in the city have you seen or heard a officer tell a person they have pulled over to move up or pull onto the side street? You seem dumb? That or you are a Midlo officer or a family member of an officer. This is classic at any rate, never take responsibility for doing stupid things, that's the people that work for us, "public servants"? ha!

They shouldn't block driveways or major streets if it's at all possible not to, but we do have to accept a certain amount of it if the situation calls for it.

I agree that a lot of times it's the boob being pulled over that starts it because I've watched it. I think some are inconsiderate while others might be afraid it will look like they aren't stopping if they go a little further. Either way, the cop has the right (if time/situation permits) to ask them to move. If he doesn't, we just have to suck it up and let them do their job.

I for one have been pulled over before and will pull off the roadway. If only everyone did the same. Ah well.

I agree midlo cops lack common sense and other brain issues. I see midlo cops everyday pulling people over on 147th every day. They must make a commision on tickets. I have been severly cut off by cops a few times so they can grab a guy going 5 over, they have little respect for the residents saftey and I have to say the get a charge racing down 147th st. Badge is just a penis extension for guys who must have been bullied as a kid. Probbably the same goes for most cops anywhere. Lighten up!! Fight a real crime.

I just left CVS and watched a cop blow a stop sign, fly down 147th, then tailgate someone for no reason what so ever! No lights either... I'm so sick of the lack of professionalism our police department displays.

Maybe he was going to a call. They don't have to turn on their lights to go to a call. Just saying

Would you like for them to open the car door for you too while your at it......Bunch of sniveling, whining little brats.
Or better yet, since you're the expert, why don't you teach a class on how to conduct traffic stops. Or better yet the next time you need to cross a crime scene, they'll just hold the crime scene tape up for you so you can get where you need to go. Grow the ef up BOB from Chicago

I'm pretty sure they pay their own bills and feed their own families. We pay taxes to the village and the village pays them to do a job. I agree they are accountable for the money they get paid. However, your not their boss. Our elected officials are. They can't have 14,000 bosses.
I have had the same problem but the officer In front of my home moved once he returned to his car. That's all I ask. I don't expect him to stop a traffic stop and let someone go because I want to park my car.
Plus Timothy McVeigh was caught on a minor traffic violation. Just food for thought.

Call so were these people (caught on minor traffic stops that is)...

Serial killers Ted Bundy and Randy Kraft

The list of people that were pulled over just before killing but for one reason or another let go is really long too. Richard Ramirez and the Batman shooter Jared Loughner for two.

no I don't need them to open my door, 147th has become a very busy thoroughfare, I was thinking of officer safety, it would be a shame to kill killed over a taillights bulb being out.

Jared Loughtner was not the Batman shooter, James Holmes was. Loughtner was the Gabby Giffords shooter.
