Most of the officers, including the chief, deputy chief, all three detectives and two of the patrol sergeants all live somewhere other than Midlothian thanks to the new mayor.

The new mayor isn't the reason all the police dept. employees you mentioned live out of the village. All were living outside the village prior to the new mayor being elected. Hope you didn't honestly think someone wasn't going to raise bull---- flag on that comment.

Fact: Until the new mayor took office, all department heads and second in charge were required to live in town. That changed with the new mayor. The point being, that most of the police department lives out of town having no ties to the Village and the people they work for.

What job requires you to live within the town that you work? 90% of the world would loose their jobs if that was a requirement. The cops are employees. Thats all and thats enough. They come to work and go home. If they lived in town there would be complaints about extended lunches in their homes etc. They go to work which is a important part of their lives just like my job is a important part of my life.

I's didn't do it, I's going to sue the police department /village, I's hate you mother----ers cause you's all are racist) bond..

What's wrong with it; first of all you would be limiting yourself to only those who live in town, why would you want to do that? I don't see working for a municipality as being different than working for any other employer. I like the idea of choosing from a large pool to find those to protect my family and property. Then it is up to supervision to make sure they are motivated and trained. For me, they have always done a good job.
They have the ability to send every truck we own but like every town in the area they realize there is a better way to handle it.

nobody said anything about scared but it is a inconvenience when you know the arrested start looking for your kid at school , car or any other target to hurt or damage..and the area would be all scrolled out for him or her to search..doubt they scared, the ones I know carry 24/7...
