Rather than consult with an attorney about lowering the tax levy of the library, they said they took the advise of "an accountant, a CPA". Was this accountant YOU, Alderman/Pro Tem Hawley?

Let's think this through.. John Rita is laying low, Domingo is front and center in the media, Bilotto is clearly overwhelmed. Hawley loves attention and praise, being right and "acting" as if he is better than the locals. Clearly, those characteristics when asked for advice would lead to providing an answer, even if it was wrong. The bigger question is where is JR in all of this. Will he throw the others under the bus?

Caught with their hand in the cookie jar it will be up to the city council to discuss the underlying issues and clean up the mess

Tonight, hopefully, the city council address the issue of "responsibility" and just who decided to change the library levy without consulting an attorney (on money matters)?
Was there full disclosure to all alder-people at the time of the vote on the levy?
Will there be "accountability"?
Will we have another lawsuit that can't be commented on?
Just what the hell is going on at City Hall?
Who is in control there (please DO NOT say consultant-accountants)?
What are they doing with OUR MONEY?

What does john Rita care about the children using the library? He does not reside in blue island. He is only a political hack, looking for another pension. And being overpaid in the mean time.

really? have you checked the new year's eve guest list at a certain Alderman's house? it's 6 degrees of separation. there's what happened, and than there's what's really going on underneath it all...

six degrees of separation
The theory that any two people in the world are connected in some way by no more than six people.
Using sexual contact as an example: when one has contact with another person, contact is effectively made with every person that person has come into contact with, and every person those people have come into contact with and so on.

Six degrees of separation is the theory that everyone and everything is six or fewer steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person in the world, so that a chain of "a friend of a friend" statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six steps.

Under the concept of "restricted funds" the city can not ask, borrow or appropriate ANY monies from separate taxing districts. This concept was put in place to stop what the current administration is trying to do: Give away plum jobs to political insiders and have the townspeople pay for it.
The money has to be spent in the manner and purpose to which it was appropriated.
Sorry folks, but that is the way it is written in the state laws, it would help if the leadership of the town would read them sometime:

What is the plan for the return of the funds snatched from the library?

Time will tell and actions do speak louder than words. I just wish, that when my taxes are paid, I know exactly what they are going towards. In this case the library was a front for our hard earned money and taxpayers should of been informed of the use of this money. If not for the library, where is it going? A road, a bridge, public safety, pensions or new political appointments, it does make a difference.

Why not just close the library and save the money. BI is a sh*t town. It doesn't need a library. Most towns don't.

And, while were at it, why not burn all of the books.
What are you an idiot? If you lived here you would see how the library serves as a vital part of our community. All the more reason to make accountable the bastards who stole the library's allocated funds.

That's what Carmine was threatening to do! First they changed dollar amounts when the paperwork was filed to take money from the library because the library "has enough" and then when caught threatens to close it, as if they really could.......what gigantic egos they have, as well as a couple other things....

When is someone at the City Council going to address the Who and Why a city document 9i.e. Levy) was changed and with who's authority?
The taxpayers of the city need this question answered.
Are there a bunch of "loose cannons" changing city documents on a whim?
What else has been changed that the citizens AND City Council members do not know about?
If it happened once it must have happened before or since.
When will the people who run this city going to be honest and truthful about this issue?
