The question should be asked to the do-nothing Chamber of Commerce. Those bunch of back slappers and blind fools think it's still 1950 & 60's. The days of the small business models are gone and they don't get it. The leader of this bunch of idiots always says that Blue Island doesn't need new businesses because it would dilute the magic of the town.....is he serious or on drugs?

Well Rodney do what I've been doing calling the Chamber of Commerce and demand answers. But what you will get is mumbling, arrogance and excuses. Then they will say that they can't get any businesses here into town because there are too many minorities in town now! Unbelievable!

The only thing being attracted to Blue Island are the lazy scumbags moving into section 8 rentals. ( Government Housing.)

So doesn't the administration have some responsibility? Why do we have a Marketing Director? I understand one family owns most of the vacant storefronts and charges exorbitant rents? Does the city have any kind of incentives for new businesses? Our Mayor and many members of the city council have been here idling sitting by .... While Blue Island hits the skids. Seems to me we need some fresh ideas and new leadership to rebuild our town ... This BIIP charade is a failure and we are all casualties ....

So did our family ... But the election was stolen as the Rita's bussed in votes. How sad for our beloved town ... And certainly not what the late Mayor Rita worked so hard for. The citizens were duped and new leadership is desperately needed.

You must be referring to all of the newly created part time positions and ridiculous Supervisor positions that the BIIP created for their friends.

Our family as well.... Along with many neighbors and friends....hmmm. Why is it such a bad idea to show identification at the polls? I could never understand what the whole fuss was about, one ballot per voter based on where you live and that you are who you say you are. I suppose that would make it difficult to bus votes in then.

Why are we getting off the subject again????? The question was asked...why isn't the Chamber of Commerce doing anything about getting new businesses here instead of having Honoree Dinners to backslap their buddies? They have said many times that the average Blue Island resident has no idea what it takes to bring a business in....if that is so explain to us why? What are you doing about it?
