Four unknown outsiders beat Jack Lind in Chicago Ridge. i thought for sure after he sent out a Boo Hoo letter crying about how unfair it was that he was being attacked for double dipping and having a 82,000 dollar pension. the voters must have thought he was lying when he said his pension was based on 35 years of service, just like his lying tell the truth flyer stated. He signed that lie with his signature.

Remember me tell the tooth and you don't got to have a high school dieploma to be smart and remeber da tooth.

Dead Last. Last in the Ridge. Last in the Township. Lowest Vote Total on his ticket. Since this was a referendum on Jack's "service" not his politics, the message from the people Jack "served" was loud and clear. You can't whine all the time and hold yourself out to be a leader. It is like this Jack--Gene's gone and so are you. So go.

<quoted text>Any time a majority of a quorum of the Village Board (in this case 3 trustees) gathers it can be considered a meeting. When our 3 went out of state to talk about Chicago Ridge Village business for a week with no one around it is everyone's nightmare. Like a frat boy road trip they probably left no doubt that everyone back home must be a rube to elect them just based on their boorish behavior and yes leaving their business and families behind. Going to Florida to cut loose? Not Very responsible.
Still don't understand what is not responsible. The job is not full time and therefore they may leave town. Your definition of a forum is correct, however I don't think that they made any "law' changes while on vacation. The gossip mill on this blog is by far more detrimental than anything that could have been discussed by them. Truly, attending various meetings would help you to understand the stance that Davies and Grove have on issues. They are for budget cuts and fixing the debacle of a pension mess. The wrong people lost the election. Some of the right ones won, a lot more dead weight should have been lifted from that board.

I'm glad there was change on the board, we needed it. Now I hope these new people realize that difficult decisions about pensions, police, tax revenue etc have to be made in the coming months and years.

They are all free to leave town and they should. Were you in Florida? Do you know what was discussed? What did Grove and Davies do to fix the pension "debacle"? What did Saunoris do to fix the pension "debacle". Fraud is hard to defend against. Talk is cheap and just because you don't like it doesn't make it gossip.

Grove's stance on issues placed him dead last in the last election. It stands to reason that Davies will suffer the same fate. Is Davies the dead weight you are referring to? Mayor Tokar will figure out the pension problem. He was the Budget Director and knows his responsibility to the Village. The scorched earth stance of Grove and Davies is finished. Put a fork in them.

Teachers, firemen, policemen, Village Laborers, clerks etc. who are part of unions have been deemed the 'enemy' by Grove and Davies, although they're the glue that helps hold our community together.

I still feel bad that Jack lost his Township reelection both at the Township level and in his home town of Chicago Ridge. Here is a song that captures his feelings. www.youtube.com/watch...

I looked at the vote totals in Chicago Ridge and even though I lost big time, I still got more than John "Jack" Lind. Poor Jack was crushed in Chicago Ridge by four Township candidates that don't even live in Chicago Ridge.
It still galls me that Lind could say that his Township work was not about politics but was about service...He was crapping us! He has been slopping at the trough for so long he can't tell the truth any more. He can't admit that as a CR Village employee he was awarded promotions, compensation, salary adjustments, compensatory time off, Village Vehicles and virtually guaranteed employment because he worked in Village and other elections for the Mayor. His whole life is about politics. He just thinks he because he really is just a servant that political work is service. Not a very enlightened conclusion. And another thing, please don't put a microphone in the dimwit's hand anymore please. He could do commercials for the Adult version of Hooked on Phonics.

I couldn't vote for Jack in large part due to the fact that he is kind of snaky guy. He talks out of both sides of his mouth and with forked tongue.
