On Tuesday a new Restaurant opened up in Tiffany Plaza by the name of SteerHogs. I had the Rib Tip Platter which was excellent and the spouse had the Brisket Sandwich which was very good. How Wild is ok and I think that SteerHogs will give them a healthy competition. No seating right now to speak of so it's mostly Carry Out. Plenty of Parking so you won't need a Golf Cart escort and the food is Hot. Cole Slaw is homemade, not canned and put in a chill bowl and the Mac and Cheese is also homemade.

Everything on the menu is awesome! Pulled pork and the loaded nachos are my favorites! Check them out at www.facebook.com/steerhogs . Very clean. Fresh food and friendly staff. I was there with the kids today and they loved it.

I know this may upset some of the loyal to Hog Wild but, Steer Hogs actually blows Hog Wild away after being there more than a few times. So nice to be able to go in to a place where the Owner and staff actually talk to the Customer instead of just smiling, taking the Cash and giving cold food and an open door out. As a fellow businessman told me, HW just got too big too fast. Lost the touch of interacting with the customer, sort of like Bartolini's.

Thought the food we had was tasty, but portion sizes were a little small.

How long did you stay and sit in the resturant? Owner and staff includes how many people? I'm loving everyone bashing Hog Wild, it must be because there are the #1 Hog in the race and everyone else is behind them. For getting "To BIG TO FAST" that resturant has been in Midlo for 18 years, what r u talking about to fast. Go back into the kitchen of the STEER HOG and do your job cooking!!!!

My wife and I have been here twice now and we enjoyed it both times. Both times I had the pulled chicken, 1st time the sandwich, 2nd time the platter. Wife had pulled pork platter both times. We both thought it was fantastic, portion size is adequate or slightly bigger than expected for the price. Sides were good, not great, but the sides are not why you go there. The only minor issue we had was when we went the first time, we also ordered the brisket sliders, these were a bit dry (this was their second day of being open) and it was late in the day (brisket dries out very easily). I will be giving the brisket another try, especially since the chicken and pork were so good. Overall, we love the place and will continue to go there. As for the comparisons with Hog Wild, there really is no comparison (two different styles of cooking food). Steer Hogs is actual BBQ, where Hog Wild is not. We do enjoy Hog Wild and my wife and I do go there and will continue to go there.

The hubby and I went their 2nd day, too, and the brisket sliders we had were dry, too. That being said, everything else was great! I had the pulled pork and he had the pulled chicken. You could really taste the smoke, but the meat was very tender. The sauce has a nice zing to it, too. We liked it so much, that we had it again Friday night. The portion of smoked sausage I had was pretty generous, and he stuck with the chicken. I really like their coleslaw and potato salad, but the green beans would be better if they weren't made with canned beans. They do have a good kick, but were a little too mushy. I agree with food lover, Hog Wild is a different kind of food, and I like theirs, too.

I've been there twice, had the pork sausage combo, pulled chicken sandwich and the rib sandwich. All were very good and exceeded expectations. Service was good, but it pays to call ahead. Baked beans were good, Mac n cheese was a bit runny and not very cheesy. Sweet potato fries were good as well. Servings were generous and the sauce had a bit of a bite, but was more than just Sweet Baby rays from the bottle like HW. That said, HW is the only place I will ever get a pork chop from. No sense messing with the best on that meal.

I rate them a 3 out of 4 stars and wish them well, especially since they have to deal with Dave Shoemake as a landlord. He's the biggest jerk of a LL in the south suburbs.

I appreciate what seems like on honest review as well. I think you may be a bit off with the "no comparison" thought.
They are located in the same town and serve some of the same items. That leads to comparison right there. HogWild does serve some BBQ. But not all BBQ. They have a larger menu so of course it wont be all "Q" You see that huge new smoker in the back of HogWild. It ain't for microwaving!!

Respectfully yours

Porky.

I am not a fan of Hog Wild, especially there chops. I must say though, I think for the employees or anyone else associated with the new BBQ joint to come on here and bash the competitor is out of line. Let the community decide. Screw you people and SteerHogs, flippin a-holes.

Hate to say so without any proof but there is definitely post or two that sound like they could be steer hog brass...I mean who says the dining area is "comfy"
And I thought fresh veggies was expected and not commended. Eh...maybe I'd do the same myself but I surely would be a little smarter about it. Anyway, the food is really counts. I will try this weekend. I am pumped up. Sounds like they have real comfortable chairs and a tomato plant right next to the bread.

Nope not an employee of SteerHogs.Fresh veggies are expected but there are few places in town that happens guess that did seem a peculiar thing to say but The lettuce and tomatoes were so fresh....and I was comfy in the chairs being a larger woman I notice things like this ,again good food ,fresh and nice people! let us know how you like it and sorry no tomatoe plant a few old trunks though ,and a gas can I'd get rid of don't really understand its significance.
