I have to agree no need to pay overtime for plowing secondary roads on weekends but main streets and snow routes should be a priority . I did not park my car on the snow route took three days to plow ! WTF ?

I disagree. I think it would have been beneficial to have the snow removal crews working Saturday & Sunday while the temp's were above and near freezing and then give the crew Monday & Tuesday off when the temp drops to the negatives.
Emergencies don't just happen on main streets and snow routes.

Blue Island Municipal Snow Plows were out on Saturday and Sunday. They were on my block on both days by the way; we do not live on one of the main streets.

You either live on a street close to a snow route where the plows have to use your street to access a snow route OR you're alderman is a BIIP backed member and lives near you. 1622

Why has the superintendent been in the passenger seat of the trucks, I've seen him @ 2 different occasions in a different truck in the passenger seat. He needs to invest in a booster chair, i have one if you need it. Does he not know how to drive a truck himself? He looks very foolish to be in passenger seat, don't make yourself look any worse than you already do. Or get your CDL and start plowing yourself.
Clearly you have issues.....is this really necessary?

The guy doesn't know how to be a Mayor. That is why he has surrounded himself with inexperienced people who told him how to do his job. He has failed and they have failed. If he has any decency at all, he would change his business/ leadership model before his failure and political connections ruin his legal career. Because, it will happen. Just watch.

The mayor's dangerous habit of creating debt for all of us, our children, and grandchildren, many of them yet unborn. Pretending his list of needs and wants today are just so much more deserving than their need for city services will be tomorrow — when they're paying off the debt he is  burying them.

Why would "a disgruntled resident" have issues when everyone on Topix talks about everyone.
We all put our comments good or bad on here, true or false. But I have to say it is funny and interesting.
Are you defending the superintendent that for a fact DOES NOT HAVE A CDL, even being with the city over 15yrs. He has been a laborer all that time, pretty sad.

That explains why our streets look so terrible. That is probably why he was shoveling City Hall stairs Sunday morning, that is all he knows how to do. Hahahaha.
