John Rita has announced that he will be closing down the Blue Island Recreation Center in November. It will be boarded up and abandoned by the mayor and the city. I guess the city needs the money to pay for John's new city job.

Domingo Vargas has never been concerned about the needs of the Black community. Just ask anyone in the 7th ward so I'm sure he is on board with the plan.

Does anyone in the city council care about this??

Sounds, like you got fooled. They will teach you for voting for alderman Johnson. It is all about politics.

Very good point. Johnson or one of the alderwomen with more seniority should have been named mayor pro tem, not a person who was just elected and knows nothing.

Hawley should have never agreed to go along with that particular BIIP discriminatory foolishness.

Its always about the needs of the black community.

Blacks sold their own people into slavery but only the evil white man gets the blame. What has the black community done for anybody?

All of the elected officials should know better.

Not a fan of those foolish "Alder Chicks" as they call themselves (Ostilng, Stone, and Viara) how ever they have been there much longer, so has Johnson.

Smells Bad and Smacks of Discrimination!

This is the same John Rita Jr. forced to resign from the Cook County Sheriff Department. John was a Commander at that time, he was caught by investigative reporters golfing on company time. John Sr. then pulled strings to get him the warden job at the prison, now he runs the town.
