FORUM Please help us wrote:
For the Forum to survive, they should become an arm of the BGA. People are starving in Blue Island for Ethical Government. These People will attend the annual fundraiser, and support the Forum. The orum should stop playing games.
the Forum has a mission statement regarding promoting the positive aspects of our community - to report on the other issues beyond including city council minutes would be outside of mission ; yes , they do knowingly or unknowingly get played politically and definitely have a liberal viewpoint ... But beyond that the type of reporting you are looking for is moe like "the Patch" in other communities.

Actually, we have been informed that the Rita's are seeking to fund and control our local paper. Attend the fundraiser to see for yourself.
(Thanks to the taxpayers) they have more disposable cash and can out spend most people.

Does anyone else here tonight see that the Forum Staff has been brainwashed by the BIIP? Journalism at it's worst!

The BIIPS have rescued the Forum but buried a town!

Sadly the parties in power have gotten away with everything from collecting votes from people with legal guardians (with no right to vote), to stuffing money in to the pockets of appointees, family members, and no bid contractors.

We need a newspaper like "the Patch" to report on what's really happening in town. TheForum does the best it can but it is not anything beyond a local newspaper highlighting community events - that's their charter. There are good people in our town committed to it's success ... They should be sought out to replace the Rita clones ... Complain as much as you like but without action it's like pissin'in in the wind .... A 4th ward resident !

Sandy May and the Forum continue to praise the BIIP and Bob Rita in the latest edition. How much did it take to pay you off, Sandy?

The Forum Editor is once again maligning the citizens of Blue Island with biased information. We are not idiots. Even Chuck Goudie ended his eye opening report with the comment of this having a lot of different elements in play here, when referring to the bridge situation. What is it that you don't understand? Are you blind to the fact that we will never have the funds to open the bridges to auto traffic. A project that some estimate will cost 10 million or more. A pedestrian bridge at best. We are being played by the Rita's and Vargas and you by supporting them with your biased opinions are a major player in this.

By the way, thank goodness for forums like Topix where citizens can come together to discuss events. Clandestine sites you oppose, yet you degrade whoever comments on here. I can't imagine how you would treat heated discourse in your biased news publication. You turned on the people Ms. Editor.

Well said. The Forum will continue to have less and less good solid people supporting them.

One can only surmise, after reading the Forum for several years, that the Editor has political alliances. I have heard her bash, in print, the previous administration while praising the present one. Clearly we are worse off than a year ago with less qualified department leaders, no bid contracts, horrific snow removal with substantial road damage and no significant progress on the bridges. The paper is feeding us fluff. Just like the City. Scarf agendas and needless party like public events that lead to nowhere should be what Ms. May is discussing. Could vestiges of old friendships be the impetus. Stay tuned folks and judge for yourselves. Ms. May join us. Stop defending this go nowhere administration like they are your children. They will make you and your paper look bad as they fail.

And yes Editor, people are taking to outlets such as this, because they don't believe that you are fair or that they or their families won't be verbally lashed at by these thugs, because of their views.

Real journalistic integrity does not bash people for using whatever forum that they choose to express their views. Anonymously or not, that is their choice.

Tom Hawley is doing the writing for the Forum. If you get his newsletter or have talked to him about the problems in your ward it sounds the same.

Say What? Tom is the driving force at the Forum? Then why wasn't his picture featured on the back of this Month's issue? Why wasn't he on the contributors list? I believe you, but I am wondering why the Rita's and Hawley are trying to fly under the radar with the Forum. Oh wait...that's how they want it. That way no one will suspect that they own Sandy. Duhhh!
