The Blue Island Library is closed, the Calumet Township is closed. There are no available warming centers for Blue Island Homeless. State Rep, Township Supervisor Bob Rita has forgotten the Downtrodden.

If so, I wonder if the Township/Library employees will get paid for the day?

Quite naturally everyone will be paid! Teachers, college professors, and all of the professionals employed by companies who closed for today and tomorrow.

I see you went to bed alone last night thinking of Alderwoman Cheattle. Did you rub one out as you fell asleep?

Witless one--it's a library, not a warming center. The city has a warming center, DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, 3301 WIRETON RD
Maybe you want our library to be turned into a flophouse for drunks. If you care so much, invite your extended family out of the alleys and into the basement apartment your mom lets you live in gratis

Some of you have no clue when it comes to the library, no doubt having never set foot inside. The library is not a social service agency; it's mission does not include providing a hangout for drunks and derelicts, many of whom do not live in Blue Island. Do you know that the upholstered chairs provided for the comfort of patrons...ALL of them...have been discarded due to having been urinated on repeatedly by people too lazy or drunk to walk to the bathroom? Do you know that almost $1,000.00 in books have been discarded because someone urinated on an entire shelf.....in full view of everyone? He was arrested. But how would you like to have the job of cleaning up that mess? i assure you, library staff do not get paid enough to deal with ..... that. And you have the nerve to complain that the library is concerned enough to close on a bitterly cold day? The Salvation Army is open? Good for them....that's part of their mission. Just keep your ignorant comnents about the library.....the best deal in the city....to yourself!

Did you hear about the the upstanding citizen who took a dump in front of the reference desk? What about the arrest last week of the homeless guy huffing inhalant in the library? The huffer was wild eyed, out of his mind and a menace to citizens. i got the hell out but the staff had to deal with that. You are right, no one gets paid enough to deal with the stuff they have to put up with. I use the library a few times a week and I've seen it. Library employees do throw the creeps out but they seem to have a never ending supply of them.

You may need to consider other employment opportunities or retirement to save yourself. The Blue Island Public Library will endure.

I got the feeling this was a library employee too but someone pissed on books? The reason all the nice chairs are gone is that they were urine soaked? I've sat in those chairs and feel sick.

Always so quick with the sexual come backs...too bad everyone who has had her, takes off running as fast as they can. She's hardly a Alderwoman or a Cheatle. I hear there's a new Mrs. Cheatle. Sorry Buckner looks like you've been replaced once again.
