its more important 2 give seat belt tickets and parking tickets than to figure out where all the drug dealers and gangbangers live and hang out. its actualy not that hard i see these kids every day, and seriouly it not to hard to see all the difernt houses cars pull up to and buy drugs around our town. thing is most every one nows these places but nothing is done about these situations.

SO, if you see something that don't look right, call the PD. What do you think it will take for all who posts on here whining about it? We can't do anything. Look up the definition of "Neighborhood Watch" and see what it is. I think it may be on the order of neighbor helping neighbor.

Ann, you don't have a clue. They do respond to every 911 call that is dispatched to them! Just because you don't see a marked police car doesn't mean they aren't around. In order for the police to make a bust they have to gather info or intel. They can't do that showing up in a squad car. The more you call 911 the more intel is received and is added to the on going report. Once they have enough info they can get a warrant and make entry. The last thing any agency wants is breaking down doors and finding nothing and end up being sued. You have to be their eyes and ears. If you see something continue to call, sooner or later it will happen. Remember, Good things come to those who wait!

I agree with Never Say Naver

The Midlo police department is well run. A LITTLE COMMUNITY INVOVMENT HELPS!

If there is a party or pot smoke in the air, action can be taken immediately. Otherwise, yes it does take intel and information.

I have a Condo where some tenants were smoking pot with people coming and going all the time. The police were called 2 or 3 people said. Well...they had no report info. Well someone really did call. Pot smoke could be smelled in the hallway. An arrest was made. A report number was made available. It was reported to the association and the tenants were made to move.

It does take action.

I guess some people think one call will save all their problems, huh? It was probably the old mayors fault that pot smokers moved in, huh?

Get off your butt and take some action.

Yes, you are Studid Stuff.
While I hate the seat bely enforcement, it does catch a lot of people driving W/O licenses or insurance too!

Do you ever report any suspicious activity? Probably not...

So you ever follow up?....probably not...

Ever drive at 2 am on a Sunday morning. It really is not hard to catch a drunk.

Remember, pulling over a person can always be dangerous. There is always the unknown there too.

I call on my crack head neighbors all the time for driving with young children with no seat belts or car seats, driving around Robbins looking for drugs and bringing the drugs back to Midlothian. Do you know what the cops have done....NOTHING....Absolutly nothing...I stopped calling. I will wait for some other town to catch them because Midlothian never will.

Can I ask if you ever confronted them? Not in a "threatning" way either. Have you ever went up to them and tell them how the neighbors are talking? Have you actually seen them drive around Robbins looking for crack? Robbins has undercover at the Projects all the time and bust people. I also believe that every once in a while, Cook County undercover comes in to help. The way a town loses a block at a time is when the people give up and let the Druggies take the streets. I'm not saying Midlo don't have "druggies" because every town does but I really don't think it's in Epedemic proportion. I drive down certain streets and think just by the way the houses look, Are those "Drug Houses"? but, not everyone is. Could be that the people are living paycheck to paycheck and have a hard time even trying to keep the yards clean or house painted. Not that it's an excuse but may be a thing called ambition.

Well if Midlothian does not have an drug "epedemic" then that is even more reason why the cops should be able to get "few" that are here. I never said they were crack heads becuause their houses looked bad. They are crack heads because they smoke crack. These neighbors that I have spoken to the police about are KNOWN drug users. Known by the police. I am not just going around Midlothian calling everyone with crappy yards crack heads. The police told me they know they are drug users. They still have done NOTHING. But according to you, I should be gathering evidence for them to make their job easier right?

By the way, YES I have seen them go to Robbins. I have not confronted them in anyway threatning or not. I value my life and need to stay alive to raise my kids. I'm pretty sure this is the point of my complaint. The police should be confronting them and doing SOMETHING, ANYTHING about this not me.

Not a big fan of MPD,but to say they don't show up unless there's money in it, is just crazy. I'm sure they are told by higher ups that they are expected to issue so many tickets.
