That's an interesting question.
The council members who attended the meeeting and voted were: Mike Janko, Domingo Vargas, Cathie Spizzirri, Jerry Natalino and Nancy Rita.
The list I got from the city website in 2011 states that Vargas,(chair) Spizzirri, Janko and Cheatle are actually on the board.
I would say that it appears that our mayor moves council members and committees as he sees fit.
This is a beautiful example where council members choose to serve their Dark Lord (our mayor) rather than standing up for their rights as council members and doing the best for the voters.
Look who is calling the kettle "Black".. Don't you have a member who just got fired for what is called "Improper Behavior" by the School District and is under Police Investigation" for said behavior. I also have heard that a former individual who was once a staunch member of CASA has been blasting CASA for being political?
Clean your house first before you start demanding others to do so.

The point is raising sticker cost in our town when other towns are no longer using them. The other town realized that it cost more to implement them than have them.

$25 for hybrids etc.$50 for cars $ 75 for trucks and RV's etc. sounds good to me. Ticket fines should be double the original cost of sticker for not having one displayed.

Tax each and every city employee $10,000.00 who lives in BI and $25,000.00 for all of the BI employees who do not.

I heard council members Cheatle, Ruthenburg, Johnson, Jaro, Thompson were present and Veyera, Potaska, Stone, and Ostling were not.

Why were the residents able to defeat the Peloquin vehicle sticker increase, and not able to quash this years increase?

The election is next year for Alderman. Time to vote the garbage out.

It would be an interesting turn of events, if Third Ward Alderman Nancy Rita were replaced by the voters.

The greatest threat to Blue Island Taxpayers has been delivered by Blue Island Elected Leaders who vote along Party Lines ignoring the people they've been elected to Serve.
Voters have the power to elect people who will SERVE.

An action to raise vehicle stickers; technically should not have occurred in this manner.
The council members and city attorney know better.

None of Blue Island's problems have been confronted realistically; resulting in the mess elected officials have easily produced.

To be sure ... But third ward residents would be bussed in from elsewhere to vote ... Nancy should go ... Only there to undermine Peloquin and now complete the takeover of our fair city by the Democrats . and how is your quality of life these days ... Proud of Blue Island ? satisfied with city services? Satisfied with the BIIP PLEDGE FOR TRANSPARENT GOVERNMENT? Vote out the BIIP!

The BIIP are not problem solvers; they're a cheerleading squad.
