Ummm, the mayor makes around 80k? Where do you come up with 115k?
The BGA website has a searchable salary database. The mayor's salary for 2013 was $115,000.

So our beloved, bad boy - rich boy, Mayor is a real Double Dipper? Right in front of our Village Trustees? Next thing that you are going to post is that he pays himself to run Ridgefest. If he has the power to appoint himself the Finance Officer, how will he ask himself to resign? What if he tells himself that he should f*** off? Is he planning on asking Larry Deetjen to bail him out on that dilemma?

We dont need a full time fire department. Look around people. Several towns in our area rum more calls and provide just as good as service as does CRFD oh and a couple of the towns actually run more calls. So ho we can they do it and we can not? It would save us a lot of money. We don't need full time firefighters.
We don't need a full time mayor. We never did. Look around people. None of the towns around us have full time mayors. They still operate as towns without a full-time mayor. There is no law that the mayor needs to be full-time. All he needs is a phone and a laptop and he can do his job from anywhere. We pay our mayor 115,000 to do what? We should be able to chop 100K right there.

Hey George. Have a nice weekend. Be carefull driving home. The weekend forecast is pretty nice for Kalamazoo. It should be in the 80's the whole time. Make sure to get a little golf in.

The new Tokar business "consultant" is a real class act. Seems like they deserve each other.

A seven year legal battle instigated by quarterbacked by Village Manager Larry Deetjen will cost village taxpayers $2 million dollars in back pay to the firefighters who have continuously defeated the village in arbitration hearings and court hearings on the issue of minimum manning.
In 2010, a judge issued an order upholding the fire department's contract with the village mandating minimum manning numbers based on agreed to public safety measures. Instead, of accepting the decision, Deetjen has waged what has become an unsuccessful seven year war with firefighters that has seen the premise of the decision upheld in various Labor Relations Board Hearings and even the Illinois Appellate Court.

Instead of paying the original amount owed, which is approximately only $200,000, Deetjen pushed forward in a series of ill timed and apparently untenable legal positions that will now cost the village approximately $2 million dollars.
Deetjen has notified the public works department through the Local 150 union representatives that it
may reduce the number of public works employees by six severely crippling snow plowing efforts.

Deetjen is reportedly "livid" that the Village is facing the prospect of paying the back pay but he is not only avoiding any blame for the decisions that have led to the judgment amount but he's actually blaming the firefighters reportedly arguing that the firefighters are "immoral" for demanding the pay that should have been paid if the village would not have violated the contract.

Solve all your problems turn them into McCook. That will do well for them.

Maybe we should be just like that beautiful Village of Calumet Park where they have Part-Time Firefighters and the Mayor gets paid $15,000. In the Friendly Village of Worth, the Mayor gets $35,349 AND they have a Fire District. The Mayor for the other end of that Fire District in Palos Hills makes $28,000 in Salary. In Palos Heights where they have a fire district the Mayor of Palos Heights makes $6,000 in Salary
You mentioned that we should do things like they do in McCook and that might be a great idea for a structure – part time firefighters AND a Full Time Mayor who makes $55,694 in salary. Heck even in Bedford Park where they have full time firefighters the Part-time Mayor makes only $17,000
Maybe that is the way to go in the Ridge…pay the firefighters less AND pay the Mayor less. Maybe we need to get the Mayor in line with all of these other communities. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Your right cut them all. But first start with those union clocksoakers. They suck the system dry.
