Greg Lochow Director of Blue Island Chamber of Commerce must be removed from this position in order for Central Business District to develop and prosper. We do not need a political HACK in this most important position. He lacks vision for the development of a prosperous CBD. The Executive Board realizes this and must replace him with a Director who is concerned in moving Blue Island forward. In protest Friends and Associates will not attend the 2014 Installation Dinner February 22, 2014.

There have been no improvements to the uptown area, and there are obviously none planned. Why do other towns move forward, and Blue Island continues in this downward spiral? Mayor Vargas promised to change this, he can start with the Jewel Property.

I did not understand who was to blame. How much is the city paying him? The Executive Board needs to hold him accountable, which they have not been doing.

Thank Lochow, for No CHOW. He is a failure, who must be replaced. He has done nothing. His only qualification, he is friends of Alderman Hawley, Vargas, Peloquin and that group. We must demand, at the Installation cocktail party, that he step down.

Why attend? You will be told the same old crap. The entertainment for the evening will be by those who will be drinking way to much.

If we don't demand better, we will never get better. Mr. Lochow obviously likes the condition of Blue Island uptown district.

Why is everyone placing the blame for Blue Island's degradation at Greg's feet? This didn't happen over night ... Our political leadership , past and present, must take accountability. Lack of foresight ... Lack of planning ... Lack of political will ... Lack of funding ... And lack of follow through. The city marketing Director has a seminal role in promoting and marketing our town. Like it or not the business properly owners are accountable for having reasonable rents and keeping up the quality of the properties. County officials that support anti business tax levies are accountable. Yes, other communities are well ahead of our city because they had the vision, political support, access to money and a positive business climate that attracts investors. Until that changes within our city ... Nothing will change ...

As head of the chamber Greg does bear some responsibility ... So does every member of the chamber.

Now that we have "change you can believe in " in DC and now in blue island little will improve. That ain't Greg's fault. Look in the mirror ... We all share some level of accountability.

Until there is a serious conscience effort to turn Blue Island around there can be no positive outcome. There are no "halos" to distribute to the elected or appointed who can fondly be referred to as Mr. Salt, Mr. Bridge, Mr. Road, Mr. Water, and Mr. Uptown. By allowing waste, mismanagement of funds and business to slip away collectively they deliver daily more harm than good.

Don't be so harsh! They did create cute little scarves with the Blue Island logo on it. As well as, fun little power point presentations. They were also the group that scared away a Water Dept. Supervisor, and terminated a Superintendent of Public Works and Building Commissioner who ALL knew what they were doing. The streets are a mess and call the Bldg dept for advice because all you will get is misinformation. Yes, they have attended every single Blue Island fundraiser or Event. They love to be seen and heard, to spread their BS propaganda. This is one busy little group.

A beginning, indeed. If his replacement does not fill the empty storefronts, he must also be replaced. This is good government.

Said state of affairs, Greg is slandering other business owners, "lairs, crazy, delusional", yet not growing an awareness in Blue Island for business growth and development. The Board needs to direct Greg. The City needs to step in.

This is a great idea! But a better one would be Frank Berrini for Mayor. Forget Vargas and Hawley. Vote Berrini!

Thinking further about this if YOU were Chamber Director what would You do differently? Frank May be a skilled and great guy but simply changing hats ... For real or political reasons won't address the core issues affecting OUR town and its business district. So we all have ideas ... Let's share them to better our town. They should be actionable, short term and long term. Not political.

100% on target. We all have a vested interest and should be working together rather than politically assassinating Greg. We have enough of this with the Democratic Party !

Sarcasm my man, nobody in their right mind would want Frank doing anything but holding a paint brush or spreading some sauce. Pizza sauce that is?
